Job Description Duration: 6+ Months Shift timing: 8:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday Description: Personal qualification: • Active Texas HVAC license for each mechanic., • Proof of Siemens controls training., • OSHA certifications relevant to HVAC, electrical work, confined spaces, and hazardous environments., • Minimum four (4) years' trade experience as a journeyman-level refrigeration and air-conditioning mechanic., • Demonstrated ability to read blueprints, mechanical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams., • Ability to perform heavy physical work and operate safely in hazardous conditions. Required Technical Experience / Skills: • Experience inspecting HVAC equipment., • Experience performing major and minor HVAC repairs., • Experience adjusting and calibrating HVAC controls., • Experience troubleshooting refrigerant leaks., • Experience servicing compressors., • Experience performing chemical treatment of HVAC water systems., • Experience working with mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic control systems., • Experience with refrigeration, air conditioning, heating, and ventilation (HVAC) systems., • Experience maintaining chilled water systems (up to 300 Client) and central plant HVAC systems (up to 500 tons)., • Experience working in hospital, healthcare, or other critical infrastructure environments. Duties • The offeror must demonstrate the ability to provide qualified journeyman-level A/C Equipment Mechanics with the required skills, certifications, training, and experience to perform all duties defined in the Statement of Work., • Demonstrated experience with refrigeration, air conditioning, heating, ventilation, and chilled water systems up to 300 Client and central plants up to 500 tons., • Capability to perform major and minor repairs, troubleshooting refrigerant leaks, adjusting and calibrating controls, and servicing mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems., • Ability to perform chemical treatment of HVAC water systems., • Experience working in hospital or critical infrastructure environments., • Demonstrated capacity to manage workload equivalent to 10 full-time A/C Equipment Mechanics for 120 workdays., • Understanding of VA specific safety, NFPA 99, OSHA, and industry compliance standards., • Inspecting equipment, performing major and minor repairs, adjusting controls, troubleshooting leaks, servicing compressors, and chemically treating water systems, as well as working with mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic controls. The role requires at least four years of trade experience, the ability to read blueprints, and independent problem-solving, with occasional supervision of helpers., • The work involves heavy lifting, frequent physical exertion, and exposure to hazards such as electrical shock, burns, and cramped spaces while working both indoors and outdoors. Work Hours: • All work, execution of services, and completion of deliverables must be accomplished during normal business hours, 8:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Prior to work being performed proper coordination must be initiated between the contractor and the government to ensure that services/work can be executed when scheduled.
