Job DescriptionJob Title: Shipping and Receiving SpecialistJob Description This role focuses on performing all aspects of shipping and receiving, including processing incoming and outgoing shipments, maintaining accurate inventory records, conducting cycle counts, filling customer and internal orders, and safely loading and unloading trucks using stand-up and sit-down forklifts. Responsibilities • Process incoming shipments by verifying documentation, inspecting materials, and accurately recording receipt information in inventory systems., • Prepare and process outgoing shipments, including packaging, labeling, and documentation, to ensure accurate and timely delivery., • Maintain inventory accuracy through regular cycle counting and reconciliation of physical counts with system records., • Pick, stage, and fill orders according to work orders or pick lists, ensuring correct quantities and items are selected., • Load and unload trucks using stand-up and/or sit-down forklifts, following all safety procedures and guidelines., • Use shipping software such as UPS WorldShip to generate labels, track shipments, and manage carrier documentation., • Organize and maintain the warehouse and shipping/receiving areas to ensure a clean, safe, and efficient work environment., • Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to coordinate shipments, resolve discrepancies, and support production or customer needs., • Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and quality standards while performing daily tasks.Essential Skills, • Minimum of 3 years of shipping and receiving experience., • Hands-on experience with inventory control and cycle counting., • Proficiency in shipping and receiving processes, including handling incoming and outgoing freight., • Experience using UPS WorldShip or similar shipping software., • Ability to operate stand-up and sit-down forklifts safely and efficiently., • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and inventory records., • High school diploma or GED., • Ability to work scheduled hours and communicate schedule preferences in advance.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience working in a warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment., • Comfort using basic computer systems and shipping software., • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment., • Commitment to safety practices and proper use of equipment., • Willingness to participate in ongoing training and career development opportunities.Why Work Here? Work Environment This position operates in a warehouse and shipping/receiving environment that involves regular use of stand-up and sit-down forklifts and other material-handling equipment. The schedule is on first shift, with start times between 5:00 a.m. and 7:30 a.m., and the option to work either four 10-hour shifts or five 8-hour shifts, with schedule details communicated in advance. Overtime can be mandatory at times, and when required, employees typically work around 50 hours per week. The dress code requires steel-toe footwear for safety, and employees should be prepared to work in an active, physical setting that prioritizes safe operations and efficient material flow. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
