Job Description Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Specialist Job Description This role oversees the accurate preparation and coordination of shipments for multiple couriers while maintaining precise inventory and order records. You will split your time between hands-on work in the warehouse and administrative tasks in the office, using systems such as SAP, WMS, and Microsoft Office to track orders, inventory, and client information. The position requires a detail-oriented professional who enjoys both physical warehouse activities and computer-based logistics work in a fast-paced distribution environment. Responsibilities • Prepare and organize shipments for various couriers, ensuring all orders are complete, properly packaged, and accurately labeled., • Use SAP, WMS, and other computer software to track orders, update inventory records, and maintain accurate client information., • Perform shipping and receiving activities, including checking in inbound goods, verifying quantities and documentation, and staging outbound orders., • Conduct cycle counts to verify inventory accuracy and reconcile discrepancies in coordination with the distribution team., • Operate RF scanning equipment to locate, pick, and confirm inventory items within the warehouse., • Use pallet jacks to move pallets and materials safely and efficiently throughout the warehouse., • Support order pulling and order fulfillment processes by accurately selecting and preparing items for shipment., • Handle phone calls related to shipping, receiving, and order status, providing clear and timely information to internal and external stakeholders., • Collaborate closely with a small distribution team to maintain smooth warehouse operations and meet shipping deadlines., • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in both the warehouse and office, following all safety procedures and guidelines. Essential Skills • Proven experience in shipping and receiving operations, including preparing shipments and processing inbound deliveries., • Hands-on experience with SAP and WMS systems for order tracking and inventory management., • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, for maintaining and updating order, inventory, and client records., • Ability to work approximately 50% of the time in the warehouse and 50% in the warehouse office, transitioning smoothly between physical and administrative tasks., • Experience with order pulling and order fulfillment in a distribution or warehouse environment., • Ability to operate pallet jacks safely to move pallets and materials., • Familiarity with RF scanning equipment for locating, picking, and tracking inventory., • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling shipments, inventory counts, and documentation., • Effective verbal communication skills for handling phone calls and coordinating with team members. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience with forklift operation in a warehouse or distribution environment., • Background in working with raw ingredients or food industry materials is an asset., • Comfort working in a non-climate-controlled warehouse with high racking and varied storage conditions., • Ability to work effectively in a small, collaborative distribution team., • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced setting. The role requires you to split your time between the warehouse floor and the warehouse office, balancing physical tasks such as pallet movement and RF scanning with computer-based work in SAP, WMS, and Microsoft Office. The setting is hands-on, fast-paced, and team-oriented, with an emphasis on safety, organization, and reliable operations. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dallas, TX 75236. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
