Software Engineer III (!!!!NO C2C OR 3RD PARTY VENDORS!!!!!) \n \n Job Summary \n We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer III to design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise software solutions that support critical business operations and customer requirements. This role is responsible for the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, architecture and design, programming, testing, deployment, documentation, and ongoing support. \n The ideal candidate is a strong full-stack developer with expertise in Java-based web applications, modern web technologies, cloud environments, relational databases, and DevOps practices. This individual will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, and technical leadership to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing solutions. \n Key Responsibilities \n\n • Design, develop, test, and maintain software solutions that meet business and customer requirements.\n, • Participate in all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, analysis, architecture, development, testing, deployment, and support.\n, • Collaborate with leadership, product owners, architects, and business partners to understand and translate business requirements into technical solutions.\n, • Maintain and enhance existing systems through sound architectural principles and test-driven development practices.\n, • Research, evaluate, and implement emerging technologies to improve system performance, security, and scalability.\n, • Develop and support full-stack web applications and integrations with third-party systems.\n, • Design and maintain SOAP and RESTful web service integrations.\n, • Optimize SQL and relational database performance through advanced query design, caching strategies, clustering, and database tuning.\n, • Implement secure coding practices and support cloud-based architecture initiatives.\n, • Configure, deploy, and maintain Java web applications hosted on Apache Tomcat and related application servers.\n, • Support SSL certificate implementations, encryption methodologies, and secure communications.\n, • Apply DevOps best practices, including CI/CD processes, source code management, branching, merging, and automated deployments.\n, • Identify technical risks, design gaps, and implementation challenges while providing recommendations for resolution.\n, • Create and execute unit tests and support quality assurance initiatives.\n, • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.\n, • Produce technical documentation, design specifications, and implementation guides.\n, • Assist with customer communication, requirements workshops, solution design sessions, and project status updates.\n, • Mentor team members and demonstrate technical leadership through best practices and standards development.\n, • Perform other duties as assigned.\n\n Required Qualifications \n Education & Experience \n\n • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution; OR equivalent professional programming experience.\n, • Experience developing and supporting web-based enterprise applications.\n, • Experience working throughout the software development lifecycle.\n, • Experience working independently on technical projects while collaborating within a team environment.\n\n Technical Skills \n Candidates should demonstrate expertise in at least two or more of the following areas: \n\n • Java development\n, • JSP, Servlets, and JDBC\n, • Web Services (SOAP and REST APIs)\n, • Angular, React, React Native, or Vue.js\n, • HTML, JSON, and modern web technologies\n, • Relational database design and development\n, • Oracle, DB2, PL/SQL, Oracle APEX, or similar database platforms\n, • Apache Tomcat, WebSphere, or other application servers\n, • Object-oriented programming principles\n, • API design and modern application architecture\n\n Additional technical requirements include: \n\n • Proficiency with GitHub, including branching and merging strategies\n, • Experience creating and executing unit tests\n, • Knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, RUP, or other software development methodologies\n, • Understanding of secure cloud technologies\n, • Knowledge of DevOps concepts and software deployment practices\n, • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities\n\n Professional Skills \n\n • Strong verbal and written communication skills\n, • Technical documentation and technical writing skills\n, • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders\n, • Strong customer service orientation\n, • Time management and multitasking capabilities\n, • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision\n, • Proven critical thinking and decision-making skills\n, • Ability to professionally challenge assumptions and recommend alternative solutions when needed\n\n Preferred Qualifications \n\n • Java Developer Certification(s)\n, • Oracle Certification(s) or DB2 Certification(s)\n, • Experience with Oracle AEM integrations\n, • Experience with Oracle Visual Builder\n, • Experience designing mobile-responsive web applications\n, • Knowledge of OWASP security principles and common web application vulnerabilities\n, • Experience with CI/CD pipeline configuration and administration\n, • Hands-on experience with Maven, Jenkins, Gradle, SVN, Git, or similar development tools\n, • Experience deploying and supporting enterprise applications in production environments\n, • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills\n\n What We're Looking For \n The successful candidate will be a motivated software engineer who combines strong technical expertise with collaborative problem-solving abilities.
