Details\n \n • Position is based within a Nursing Float Pool at a 444-bed academic teaching hospital with a Level III NICU and Level IV Perinatal Center\n, • Float pool covers NICU (61 beds), PICU (24 beds), PCICU (16 beds), General Pediatrics, and ER (22 beds) across two campuses in Oak Lawn and Park Ridge, IL\n, • NICU patient population includes premature infants and patients with neurological, GI, and feeder/grower needs; PICU includes intubated, post-surgical, respiratory failure, and neuro patients; PCICU includes complex cardiac diagnoses (Norwood, TAPVR, HLHS, CHD, post-Cath, heart failure) in neonates through adults\n, • Patient ratios: NICU 1:2, PICU 1:2, PCICU 1:2, General Pediatrics 1:3-4, ER 1:3-4\n, • Assignments are posted 90–120 minutes prior to shift start\n, • Schedule is 12-hour night shifts (19:00–07:30), three shifts per week (36 hrs/week)\n, • Weekend rotation is every other weekend\n, • 6-week scheduling cycle; RTO requests must be approved by the manager\n, • Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays\n, • EMR: Epic (experience required)\n, • IV pump: Alaris; medication dispensing: Pyxis; monitoring: Med Sonic\n Requirements\n \n, • Active IL RN license required\n, • Current certifications required: BLS, PALS, NRP\n, • Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required, with most recent experience within the last year\n, • Proficiency in trach management, mechanical ventilators, chest tubes, Foley catheters, surgical drains, arterial lines, CVLs, blood draws, IV starts, traction, CPAP, high-flow oxygen, oscillators, central lines, dressing changes, heliox, and nitric respiratory support\n, • Experience managing drips including Fentanyl, Propofol, Precedex, Epinephrine, and Levophed\n, • Epic EMR experience required\n, • One professional reference from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN dated within the last year required for consideration\n, • Candidate DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration\n Additional Information\n \n, • Must be able to travel to and work at both the Oak Lawn and Park Ridge campuses; floating is required across NICU, PICU, PCICU, and General Pediatrics\n, • Departmental orientation includes 2 days in PICU/PCICU\n, • Support staff includes CNAs, charge nurses, HUC/receptionist, IV/VAT team, respiratory therapy (24/7), hospitalists (24/7), and intensivists (24/7)\n, • Navy scrubs required\n, • Free parking is available on-site\n, • Unit culture is described as teamwork-oriented and friendly\n, • First-time travelers are accepted for this position\n, • Former employees of Advocate Health or any of its subsidiaries must be separated for at least 12 months before being eligible\n, • Local candidates are accepted at the same rate; no radius restrictions apply\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-731731.
