We are seeking to grow our organization with a dedicated Purchasing Specialist to join our team in Totowa, New Jersey. The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for ensuring the timely availability of raw materials required for production. This role manages scheduling, purchase orders, verifies receipts, resolves discrepancies, and maintains accurate material information, including pricing and specifications. The Purchasing Specialist works closely with Supply Chain, Production, Logistics, and Quality teams to drive an efficient beginning-to-end supply chain process. • Obtain and manage production materials by verifying, preparing, and processing purchase orders; maintain accurate raw material data including pricing, specifications, and supplier details; and authorize supplier payments as needed., • Ensure timely availability of raw materials through continuous monitoring of inventory levels, usage trends, and replenishment requirements., • Prepare and issue purchase orders by confirming specifications and pricing, identifying alternate suppliers when necessary, and securing approvals from relevant departments., • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance by expediting orders, resolving shipment discrepancies, and updating delivery schedules to address delays., • Collaborate closely with the Supply Chain Manager and Production Planner to meet monthly production goals, proactively addressing any material shortages or schedule disruptions., • Partner with Production, Logistics, and Quality teams to ensure a seamless end-to-end supply chain process., • Identify and escalate supplier-related material issues, coordinate with Operations for corrective actions, and process supplier credits through Accounts Payable when applicable., • Assist with monthly inventory counts and reconciliation to ensure data accuracy and alignment with financial records., • Support MRP system migration by adapting procurement workflows, maintaining data integrity, and contributing to process improvements., • Associate's degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing or procurement; experience within a manufacturing environment strongly preferred., • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel., • Demonstrated planning experience required; familiarity with ERP or MRP systems preferred., • Comfortable working in both office and production environments, including time on the production floor and in the warehouse to audit inventory, collaborate with operators, and verify incoming materials., • Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision., • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail., • Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate and build relationships across multiple departments., • Certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g., CPSM, CSCP) is highly desirable., • Familiarity with sales order processing and advanced materials control techniques., • Demonstrated ability to analyze procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities., • Experience in vendor relationship management and strategic sourcing.
