Job DescriptionJob Title: General Production Worker Job Description This role supports high-volume manufacturing and packaging operations by handling a variety of production, packaging, and material-handling tasks. You will work on multiple packaging lines, assist with batch preparation, and perform general housekeeping to keep the facility safe, clean, and efficient. The position requires flexibility, attention to detail, and the ability to work in different areas of the plant as production needs change. Responsibilities • Place caps and lids on bottles with accuracy and consistency., • Bottle products and pack them into boxes and cases according to production requirements., • Place bottles, caps, and lids into boxes and ensure correct quantities and configurations., • Sort and separate finished products based on size, type, or order requirements., • Pack jugs and bottles into boxes securely to prevent damage during handling and shipping., • Lift and stage boxes for further processing, storage, or shipment., • Palletize and wrap boxes and containers to create stable, secure pallets., • Place boxes and products into sealing machinery and monitor equipment for proper operation., • Perform quality inspections by counting, sorting, and checking product size to meet quality standards., • Apply tags and labels to products and boxes accurately for identification and traceability., • Pull cases off the line and stack them on pallets in an organized and safe manner., • Wrap and stage cases and boxes for shipping or storage., • Work on multiple packaging lines to meet production schedules and volume requirements., • Assist operators with batch mixing and general production support as needed., • Help make batches by weighing out product liquids and performing preparation work for batches., • Document all orders accurately and maintain required production records., • Work with drums and totes, including moving, staging, and assisting with filling operations., • Lift items weighing up to 55 pounds as part of routine production and material-handling tasks., • Perform housekeeping duties such as sweeping, mopping, taking out trash, and general cleanup when lines are down or production runs are complete., • Support seasonal and facility needs, including salting the parking lot when it snows., • Move between packaging and formulation areas as needed, taking on different tasks throughout the day., • Follow all safety guidelines and use required personal protective equipment while working on the production floor and in the warehouse.Essential Skills, • Ability to perform multiple jobs and work in multiple areas within the facility., • Capability to lift up to 50–55 pounds safely and repeatedly throughout the shift., • Prior manufacturing or general labor experience., • Experience with packaging, including picking, packing, lifting, sorting, counting, wrapping, and staging products., • Ability to perform repetitive motions safely and consistently., • Strong multi-tasking skills and comfort working in a fast-paced production environment., • Attention to detail when counting, sorting, labeling, and documenting orders., • Reliability and flexibility to work required hours, including extended shifts and mandatory days as needed., • Steel toe boots (steel toe footwear) as a requirement for working on the production floor.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Background in chemical, oil, or food manufacturing is a plus., • Experience with batch mixing, formulation, or working with drums and totes is beneficial., • Familiarity with operating or supporting sealing, filling, and packaging machinery., • Comfort working in both packaging and formulation areas and switching tasks frequently., • Strong commitment to safety and housekeeping standards., • Ability to work effectively in both smaller and larger team environments.Why Work Here? Work Environment The work takes place in temperature-controlled facilities divided between the production floor and warehouse. One location is a modern, very clean, and recently remodeled facility with a smaller workforce, offering a more close-knit environment with fewer lines, kettles, fillers, and blenders. The other location is larger, houses a few hundred employees across shifts, and runs more lines and higher production volumes, which can feel fast-paced and sometimes chaotic due to the amount of work and number of people on site. Both facilities maintain organized inventory and supplies and place a strong emphasis on safety. Operations include manufacturing products, bottling, staging, and shipping. One site focuses more on customized orders and pallets, while the other handles more continuous batches and repetitive client orders. There are security checkpoints at the larger facility and multiple break rooms available. Chemicals used at both sites are described as not harmful. The role requires steel toe footwear and involves working full-time schedules: for example, a first shift of approximately 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday with a standard four 10-hour day schedule and mandatory Fridays, plus optional Saturdays; and a second shift option of approximately 4:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. Monday through Friday. Employees should expect to work around 50 hours per week and to perform housekeeping tasks such as sweeping, mopping, taking out trash, and salting the parking lot in winter as part of the regular work routine. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Alsip, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.25 - $18.35/hr.
