Job Description – Facilities Surplus Worker (Warehouse Worker) \n Job Title: Facilities Surplus Worker (Warehouse Worker) \n Location: Tucson, AZ (Onsite) \n Job Type: Contract (Staff Augmentation) \n Duration: 08/03/2026 – 11/30/2026 (Approx. 4 Months) \n Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (40 Hours/Week) \n \n Position Summary \n The Facilities Surplus Worker supports agency facility transition projects by removing, relocating, organizing, and preparing furniture, equipment, supplies, and other property for disposal or State Surplus. Under the supervision of the Property Inventory Manager, this role helps clear buildings while ensuring compliance with property management procedures, workplace safety standards, and State Surplus requirements. \n \n Key Responsibilities \n\n • Remove furniture, equipment, supplies, and miscellaneous materials from agency buildings.\n, • Load, unload, transport, and stage materials using safe lifting techniques and appropriate equipment.\n, • Assist in relocating reusable property and preparing surplus items for State Surplus auctions.\n, • Organize, label, and stage materials in warehouse or storage areas.\n, • Perform basic disassembly of furniture, shelving, and equipment when required.\n, • Clean buildings and remove debris after materials have been cleared.\n, • Prepare facilities for turnover by ensuring buildings are clean, empty, and organized.\n, • Operate pallet jacks, dollies, carts, hand tools, and other material-handling equipment.\n, • Follow all safety procedures and properly use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).\n, • Report damaged property, safety hazards, or unusual conditions to the Property Inventory Manager.\n, • Assist with additional facilities support duties as assigned.\n\n \n Required Qualifications \n\n • High school diploma or GED preferred.\n, • Ability to safely perform physically demanding work throughout the workday.\n, • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 75 lbs (with assistance or proper equipment when needed).\n, • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.\n, • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.\n, • Strong teamwork and communication skills.\n, • Valid Arizona Driver's License preferred.\n\n \n Required Skills \n\n • Experience with warehouse, moving, or material handling activities.\n, • Knowledge of safe material handling practices.\n, • Ability to safely move furniture, equipment, and heavy materials.\n, • Ability to organize work efficiently with minimal supervision.\n, • Ability to distinguish between property designated for disposal, relocation, or State Surplus.\n, • Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.\n, • Experience using pallet jacks, dollies, carts, and basic hand tools.\n\n \n Working Conditions \n\n • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling.\n, • Work performed in offices, classrooms, warehouses, storage areas, and other agency facilities.\n, • Exposure to dust, heat, cold, and varying environmental conditions.\n\n \n Submission Requirements \n\n • Resume\n, • Right to Represent (R2R)\n, • Cover Letter\n, • Confirmation of ability to work onsite in Tucson, AZ\n\n \n Important Notes \n\n • Local Tucson, AZ candidates only.\n, • Candidate's current location must be listed on the resume.\n, • Must be able to start within two weeks of receiving an offer.\n, • Work Location: Onsite – Tucson, AZ\n, • Contract Duration: 08/03/2026 – 11/30/2026 (Approximately 4 months)\n
