Job DescriptionElectrician (Commercial & Industrial) Pay:$27-32+/hour Overview We are seeking skilled Electricians to support a variety of construction and service projects across the Hampton Roads area. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse job sites performing installations, repairs, and maintenance on power and control systems. Depending on your experience level, you will be assigned to projects where you can work independently and take ownership of your work. Key Responsibilities • Perform electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance in commercial and industrial environments, • Install and service electrical systems and equipment, including:, • Motors, relays, starters, and switches, • Motor Control Centers (MCCs), • Switchgear and transformers, • Power distribution systems, • Heat tracing systems and cable trays, • Determine conduit sizing, pull wire, make terminations, and install junction boxes per code and project specifications, • Run and bend rigid conduit, EMT, and PVC for various applications, • Support new construction, retrofits, equipment replacements, and service work, • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings, • Perform power and control wiring at a journeyman or master level, • Troubleshoot electrical issues and implement effective solutions, • Work independently, managing tasks, time, and workflow efficiently, • Follow NEC, local electrical codes, and OSHA safety standards, • Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites, • Coordinate with supervisors, team members, and other tradesRequired Qualifications, • Strong experience in commercial and/or industrial electrical work, • Proven ability to:, • Run and bend conduit (rigid, EMT, PVC), • Pull wire and perform terminations, • Install and troubleshoot electrical systems, • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical drawings, • Working knowledge of NEC and OSHA regulations, • Ability to work independently without direct supervision, • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, • Reliable and able to manage job responsibilities effectivelyPreferred Qualifications, • Journeyman or Master Electrician license (preferred, not required), • Trade school or vocational training in electrical systems, • Experience with:, • MCCs, switchgear, and transformers, • Industrial environments or construction sites, • Cold storage or specialized facilities, • Stable work history and strong safety recordWhy Join Us?, • Consistent, full-time work across multiple projects, • Competitive pay + 401(k) with company match, • Comprehensive benefits: medical, dental, vision, life, and disability, • Paid time off and holidays, • Employee Assistance Program (EAP), • Career growth and advancement opportunities, • Employee referral bonus programWork Environment, • Projects located throughout the Hampton Roads area, • Typical schedule: 6 days/week, 10-hour shifts, • Work in commercial and industrial settings, including:, • Construction sites, • Cold storage facilities, • Equipment-heavy environments, • Hands-on role requiring use of standard electrical tools and equipment, • Exposure to varying job site conditions, • Strict adherence to safety standards and code compliance required Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newport News, VA.
