Job DescriptionJob Title: Bench Technician Job Description The Bench Technician is responsible for restoring and maintaining dimensional conformity of aerospace components through precision straightening, fitting, and manual machining operations. This role is crucial in supporting manufacturing by producing conforming parts while minimizing scrap and preserving product integrity. Responsibilities • Straighten formed, machined, brazed, and heat-treated components to engineering requirements using approved methods, fixtures, and equipment., • Interpret engineering drawings, dimensions, and tolerances to determine required corrections and verify product conformity., • Perform manual machining, drilling, reaming, deburring, fitting, and other bench operations as required., • Use precision measuring equipment to verify dimensional accuracy before, during, and after straightening operations., • Evaluate parts for damage, distortion, or other conditions that may affect product quality and report concerns to supervision., • Safely operate arbor presses, hydraulic presses, hand tools, drill presses, belt sanders, and other shop equipment., • Work closely with Engineering, Quality, and Production to resolve dimensional and manufacturing issues., • Maintain tooling, fixtures, and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition., • Follow all company safety, quality, and customer requirements., • Perform other duties as assigned.Essential Skills, • Experience in precision manufacturing, machining, metal forming, bench work, or related mechanical trades preferred., • Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret dimensions and tolerances., • Proficiency using precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and indicators., • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to safely manipulate and straighten precision components., • Experience operating manual shop equipment and hand tools., • Familiarity with AS9100 or other regulated manufacturing environments preferred., • High School diploma or equivalent.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Ability to perform detailed visual inspections., • Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 40 lbs., • Ability to safely operate manual shop equipment while wearing required PPE.Why Work Here? Work Environment Work hours are from 6 AM to 2:30 PM. The position involves working in a hands-on environment with manual shop equipment, requiring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
