Job Description Job Title: Mechanical Laborer Job Description The Mechanical Laborer supports mechanics, technicians, pipefitters, millwrights, and maintenance personnel in the installation, maintenance, repair, and operation of mechanical equipment and systems. You help ensure that daily maintenance activities run smoothly by preparing tools and materials, performing basic mechanical tasks under supervision, maintaining clean and safe work areas, and contributing to the efficient and safe completion of projects in an industrial environment. Responsibilities • Assist mechanics, technicians, pipefitters, millwrights, and maintenance personnel with the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment and systems., • Gather, organize, and transport tools, materials, and equipment to and from job sites to support ongoing work., • Perform basic mechanical tasks under supervision, including disassembly, cleaning, lubrication, and reassembly of equipment., • Assist with the installation of piping, valves, pumps, conveyors, motors, and other mechanical components., • Clean and prepare work areas before, during, and after maintenance activities to maintain a safe and orderly job site., • Operate hand tools, power tools, and material handling equipment safely and in accordance with instructions., • Load and unload materials, equipment, and supplies as needed to support maintenance and installation work., • Help inspect equipment for wear, damage, and operational issues and report findings to personnel., • Follow preventive maintenance schedules and assist with routine service work on mechanical systems., • Maintain inventory of tools and consumable materials, ensuring items are stored properly and available when needed., • Complete assigned work in accordance with established quality and safety standards., • Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space, fall protection, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements. Essential Skills • Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools., • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately., • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn mechanical trades., • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in an industrial setting., • Reliable attendance and punctuality., • Capability to perform general labor tasks in a construction and industrial environment., • Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and material handling equipment. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience performing general labor in construction or industrial environments is beneficial., • Familiarity with basic mechanical tasks such as disassembly, cleaning, lubrication, and reassembly of equipment is an asset., • Comfort working around piping, valves, pumps, conveyors, motors, and other mechanical components., • Awareness of safety practices related to lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space, fall protection, and PPE. The work involves physical activity, maintaining clean and organized work areas, and collaborating closely with maintenance and mechanical teams. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Fort Worth, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
