Job Description Job Title: Commercial Concrete Finisher Pay: $28.00 - 30.00 per hour Job Description This role focuses on pouring and finishing large commercial concrete slabs, typically ranging from 10,000 to 15,000 square feet per day, on a variety of turnkey commercial projects. You will perform flat work, curb and gutter, sidewalk installation, and form setting, primarily for commercial buildings, schools, and apartment complexes. The position requires consistent adherence to safety standards and the ability to work efficiently on busy commercial job sites. Responsibilities • Pour and finish large commercial concrete slabs, typically ranging from 10,000 to 15,000 square feet per day., • Perform flat work, including slabs, sidewalks, aprons, and other horizontal concrete surfaces on commercial projects., • Install and finish curb and gutter systems for site work on commercial construction projects., • Set and work with regular wood forms, including two-by-fours, two-by-sixes, and plywood, to shape and support concrete pours., • Complete sidewalk installation and related site work, including curbs, gutters, and aprons, on turnkey projects., • Work on a variety of commercial projects such as commercial buildings, schools, and apartment complexes from start to finish., • Use hand tools and personal concrete finishing tools to achieve high-quality finishes on all concrete work., • Read and interpret blueprints when needed to understand project specifications and layout (where applicable)., • Follow all mandatory PPE and safety requirements on commercial job sites, including the use of steel-toed boots, hard hats, and safety glasses., • Collaborate with crew members and foremen to complete daily production goals and maintain project schedules., • Travel with crews to various job sites, primarily within the Colorado Springs area and occasionally to Denver, Pueblo, and Salida., • Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly care for company-supplied specialty tools, rakes, and shovels., • Work early mornings, late nights, and extended hours as needed to meet project timelines and production targets. Essential Skills • 3 years or more of concrete experience preferred, with 5 or more years ideal, particularly in commercial concrete work., • Well-rounded skills in flat work, including large slab pours, sidewalks, and aprons., • Proven experience with curb and gutter installation and finishing on commercial projects., • Ability to pour and finish big slabs, typically around 10,000 to 15,000 square feet per day., • Experience with site work, including curbs, gutters, sidewalks, and aprons on mostly turnkey projects., • Hands-on experience working on commercial buildings, schools, and apartment complexes., • Ability to set and work with regular wood forms, including two-by-fours, two-by-sixes, and plywood., • Strong proficiency with concrete finishing hand tools and related equipment., • Willingness and readiness to work early mornings, late nights, and long hours consistent with the demands of concrete work., • Commitment to comply with all safety requirements and PPE standards on commercial job sites., • Reliability, strong work ethic, and the ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, production-focused environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Blueprint reading experience is a plus and can support advancement opportunities., • Comfort working on turnkey commercial projects from start to finish., • Ability to work collaboratively with bilingual crews; Spanish speakers are welcome, and many foremen are bilingual., • Desire to advance into lead or foreman roles based on performance and demonstrated leadership., • Personal ownership of basic concrete finishing tools such as hand tools, sliders, and knee boards.
