Job Description PART-TIME LICENSED YOUTH THERAPIST — LPC OR LCSW Melabiz Community Hub is seeking an independently licensed LPC or LCSW to provide counseling, clinical oversight, and staff supervision for our mental-health services supporting young people ages 12–24. This is a limited, part-time contract position with a very small counseling caseload. The clinician will provide a combination of in-person and telehealth services during scheduled evening hours. The clinician will also provide regular clinical supervision, case consultation, and professional guidance to Melabiz’s Mental Health Specialist. The clinician will not be expected to manage a large caseload, work outside the established schedule, or provide 24-hour crisis coverage. POSITION DETAILS • $40-45 per hour, • Part-time 1099 contract position, • Approximately 9–12 hours per week, • Regular schedule: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings, • Scheduled hours will generally be 4:00 or 5:00 p.m. through 8:00 p.m., • Exact start time may vary based on program and client needs, • Very small counseling caseload, • Hybrid position with in-person and telehealth services, • Some documentation and approved administrative work may be completed remotely, • Predictable schedule established in advance, • No overnight or after-hours on-call requirement, • Paid counseling, documentation, approved meetings, clinical supervision, workshops, and care-coordination time, • Possibility of additional hours as programs and funding grow CLINICAL SUPERVISION AND OVERSIGHT The licensed clinician will provide clinical supervision and oversight to Melabiz’s Mental Health Specialist. Supervision responsibilities include: • Holding regularly scheduled supervision meetings, • Providing case consultation and clinical guidance, • Supporting service planning and appropriate professional boundaries, • Reviewing applicable documentation for clinical quality and compliance, • Providing guidance related to safety planning, referrals, and service limitations, • Helping identify situations that require specialized services or a higher level of care, • Supporting ethical decision-making, • Ensuring services remain within each team member’s appropriate role and scope, • Documenting supervision meetings and recommendations when required, • Helping strengthen Melabiz’s mental-health procedures, documentation practices, and referral processes PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide individual counseling to a very small caseload of young people ages 12–24., • Provide regular clinical supervision and case consultation to the Mental Health Specialist., • Conduct clinical assessments and contribute to individualized treatment and service planning., • Complete treatment plans, progress notes, discharge documentation, and other required clinical records., • Provide telehealth counseling through an approved secure platform., • Facilitate occasional therapeutic groups or youth wellness workshops., • Provide de-escalation, risk assessment, and safety planning during scheduled working hours., • Coordinate care with the Mental Health Specialist, case managers, peer mentors, and program staff., • Review applicable clinical documentation and provide feedback., • Make referrals and warm hand-offs when a young person needs services outside Melabiz’s scope., • Maintain accurate and timely documentation that meets clinical, ethical, legal, funder, and contract requirements., • Follow Arizona mandated-reporting requirements., • Protect client confidentiality and maintain appropriate professional boundaries., • Provide affirming and identity-safe care to justice-involved, system-impacted, LGBTQIA+, and housing-insecure young people. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Active and unrestricted Arizona Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license in good standing., • Legally authorized to practice independently in Arizona., • Legally authorized to provide telehealth services to clients located in Arizona., • Qualified to provide the level of clinical supervision and oversight required for this position., • Master’s degree in counseling, social work, or a related clinical field., • Experience providing behavioral-health services to adolescents or young adults., • Experience providing clinical supervision, case consultation, or staff oversight., • Knowledge of trauma-responsive care, CBT, motivational interviewing, de-escalation, risk assessment, and safety planning., • Strong clinical judgment, documentation, organization, and communication skills., • Consistent availability on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings., • Ability to work until 8:00 p.m. on scheduled workdays., • Ability to provide both in-person and telehealth services., • Ability to complete required background checks., • Ability to obtain or maintain any required Arizona fingerprint clearance., • Professional liability insurance or willingness to obtain coverage before beginning services. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Experience supervising behavioral-health staff., • Experience serving justice-involved or system-impacted young people., • Experience supporting LGBTQIA+ young people., • Experience working in a community-based youth program., • Experience facilitating youth groups or wellness workshops., • Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus but not required.
