Job DescriptionJob Title: Assembly MechanicJob Description The Assembly Mechanic assembles custom equipment and machinery according to detailed specifications and drawings, performing mechanical, electrical, and basic plumbing work to deliver high-quality, fully functional assemblies. This role reads and interprets electrical schematics and technical drawings, installs components and wiring, and collaborates closely with engineering and production teams to meet project deadlines while maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient work environment. Responsibilities • Assemble custom-built equipment and machinery according to engineering specifications, technical drawings, and work instructions., • Perform mechanical assembly using common hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments to build, align, and secure components., • Carry out electrical wiring and component installation in accordance with electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and best practices., • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical drawings to ensure accurate assembly and installation., • Complete basic plumbing tasks, including installation and connection of piping, fittings, and related components as part of the assembly process., • Set up machines and equipment as required for the assembly process, ensuring correct configuration and operation., • Install ductwork and sheet metal components where needed, using appropriate tools and techniques., • Inspect and test completed assemblies to verify quality, functionality, and adherence to specifications., • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues that arise during the assembly process, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions., • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to clarify requirements, address technical issues, and meet project deadlines., • Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work area, following all safety procedures and best practices., • Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of reliability, detail orientation, and quality focus.Essential Skills, • Proven experience in mechanical assembly, equipment manufacturing, or a closely related field., • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical drawings., • Working knowledge of electrical wiring practices, components, and safe installation methods., • Basic plumbing skills, including installation and connection of piping, fittings, and related components., • Strong mechanical aptitude with demonstrated troubleshooting abilities for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues., • Proficiency in using common hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments for assembly and installation., • Capability to set up machines and equipment to support the assembly process., • Experience with duct installation and sheet metal work in a manufacturing or assembly environment., • Ability to work independently with little to no supervision while meeting quality and productivity expectations., • Reliable, detail-oriented, and quality-focused approach to work, with a commitment to accuracy and completeness.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience assembling custom-built machinery or industrial equipment., • Knowledge of pneumatics, including the assembly and integration of pneumatic components and systems., • Knowledge of hydraulics and the ability to work with hydraulic components and circuits., • Familiarity with industrial controls and related electrical or electronic components., • Electrical certification or related technical training from a vocational, technical, or trade program.Why Work Here? The setting supports hands-on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing tasks, including machine setup, duct installation, and sheet metal work. Work is performed in a structured shop environment designed to support efficient assembly processes and consistent product quality. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of North Haven, CT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
