This role is responsible for identifying mechanical and electrical issues, completing repairs accurately and efficiently, and ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards. Essential Functions • Troubleshoot and diagnose trailer repair needs based on customer concerns and inspections., • Provide repair recommendations and assist with preparing estimates., • Perform preventative maintenance and routine service on brakes, tires, bearings, suspension, lighting, wiring, couplers, jacks, and related trailer systems., • Install accessories, upgrades, and modifications on new and used trailers., • Ensure all repairs meet manufacturer specifications and applicable safety standards., • Communicate repair status and recommendations to customers in a professional manner., • Complete work orders accurately and maintain service records., • Test trailers and repairs as needed to verify proper operation and quality of workmanship., • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations., • Receive, unload, and organize trailer and parts deliveries., • Assemble, inspect, test, and prepare new trailer inventory for sale., • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area., • Assist other technicians and departments as needed., • Perform additional duties as assigned.Working Conditions, • Ability to work flexible schedules, including occasional weekends and overtime as business needs require., • Regular work performed outdoors in varying weather conditions., • Frequent bending, lifting, kneeling, standing, and working around trailers and equipment., • Ability to safely lift and move equipment, parts, and materials., • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.Qualifications & Requirements, • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required., • Mechanical repair experience required; trailer service and repair experience preferred., • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills., • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment., • Welding and fabrication experience is preferred., • Ability to read and understand repair instructions, service documentation, and technical information., • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record., • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship., • Ability to work independently and as part of a team., • Excellent communication and customer service skills., • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.Why American Trailer Sales?
