Job DescriptionJob Title: Maintenance TechnicianJob Description This role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical and electrical systems in a clean, refrigerated food manufacturing facility. Maintenance Technicians perform both preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operation across day and night shifts. Responsibilities • Perform mechanical maintenance on production equipment, including troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of components to minimize downtime., • Conduct electrical maintenance tasks such as diagnosing issues, repairing wiring, and maintaining electrical systems in accordance with safety standards., • Carry out preventive maintenance on machinery and systems to ensure optimal performance and reduce the risk of equipment failure., • Work with PLC-controlled equipment, particularly Allen-Bradley systems, to assist with troubleshooting and support process control as needed., • Inspect equipment regularly to identify potential mechanical or electrical issues and take corrective action promptly., • Collaborate with operations, quality, and process control teams to support continuous and reliable production in a refrigerated, food-grade environment., • Follow all plant safety procedures, lockout/tagout practices, and sanitation guidelines while performing maintenance activities., • Document maintenance work performed, including repairs, parts used, and preventive maintenance tasks, in accordance with facility standards., • Support production during both day and night shifts, adapting to scheduled overtime when required to meet operational needs., • Maintain a clean and organized work area and handle tools, equipment, and facility resources responsibly.Essential Skills, • 3 to 5 years of mechanical maintenance technician experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting., • 1 to 2 years of electrical maintenance experience working with production or plant equipment., • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and repair mechanical components and systems., • Hands-on electrical troubleshooting skills, including working safely around industrial electrical systems., • Experience performing preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment., • Basic familiarity with PLC-driven equipment and willingness to support PLC-related troubleshooting., • High school diploma or higher level of education., • Ability to work 10-hour shifts on either day or night schedules, including Sunday–Wednesday or Wednesday–Saturday rotations., • Comfort working in a refrigerated environment and adhering to strict sanitation and safety requirements., • Effective communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with other technicians and production staff.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience in the food manufacturing industry is preferred but not required., • Exposure to hydraulics, mechanical systems, and electrical controls in a production environment., • Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs and process control systems is highly beneficial, particularly for night-shift process control work., • Background working in clean, regulated environments with strict hygiene and sanitation standards., • Ability to work around multiple team members and coordinate tasks in a busy production setting., • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining equipment reliability and product quality.Why Work Here? Work Environment The facility is a yogurt manufacturing plant with a very clean, refrigerated work environment designed to meet strict food safety and sanitation standards. The production floor is spacious, and you may work around up to 10 other individuals at a time. Attire that comes into contact with chemicals or product remains on-site to comply with sanitation rules. All employees wear hair nets, facial hair guards, shoe covers, and hearing protection while on the floor. Maintenance Technicians work 10-hour shifts, with day schedules typically running from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and night schedules from 6:00 p.m. to 4:30 a.m, on either Sunday–Wednesday or Wednesday–Saturday rotations. Overtime may extend shifts to 6:00 p.m. or 6:00 a.m. as needed. The environment combines modern food processing equipment, PLC-controlled systems, and established safety and hygiene protocols to support efficient and reliable operations.
