We are seeking an experienced Plaintiff-Side Medical Malpractice Paralegal to join our trial practice in Omaha. This is not an entry-level position, nor is it an administrative support role. What Makes This Role Different You won't simply be managing paperwork. You will become an integral part of the litigation strategy behind significant medical malpractice cases. Your ability to identify critical facts, organize complex medical evidence, anticipate case needs, and maintain the highest standards of accuracy will directly impact case outcomes. You'll work closely with experienced trial counsel in a professional environment where thorough preparation, accountability, and expertise are valued and respected. Compensation: $50,589.88 - $60,925.45 yearly Responsibilities: Responsibilities • Manage case files from filing through resolution across Nebraska and South Dakota, • Collect, organize, and analyze medical records and billing, • Prepare detailed medical chronologies and identify key issues in causation and damages, • Draft discovery, including interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission, • Coordinate with expert witnesses and prepare materials for expert review and disclosure, • Assist with depositions, including scheduling, preparation, and summarizing testimony, • Prepare cases for mediation and trial, including exhibits, witness coordination, and trial notebooks, • Track deadlines and ensure compliance with Nebraska and South Dakota procedural rules, • Assist with settlement documentation, subrogation and other liens, and case closing Qualifications: Qualifications • Minimum of three years of plaintiff personal injury litigation experience required; medical malpractice experience strongly preferred, • Experience handling cases in Nebraska and/or South Dakota required, • Strong working knowledge of civil litigation process from filing through trial, • Experience with ordering medical and billing records, handling subrogation matters, • Experience drafting discovery and working with expert witnesses, • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple complex cases, • Strong written and verbal communication skills, • Proficiency with case management systems and Microsoft Office Compensation & Benefits • Salary: $50,589.88–$60,925.45 per year, based on experience, • 401(k), • Paid Time Off, • Half-Day Fridays (office closes at 1:00 p.m.), • A collaborative team environment focused on excellence, • Meaningful work that makes a difference in clients' lives, • The opportunity to work on sophisticated medical malpractice cases alongside experienced trial attorneys Why Watson & Carroll?
