Job Description David Raines Community Health Centers is looking for passionate, qualified applicants to join our team! General Description: The Chief Medical Officer serves as the senior physician executive responsible for providing strategic leadership, clinical oversight and medical direction for all healthcare services delivered by David Raines Community Health Center which is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). The CMO ensures the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered, evidence-based care while supporting the organization's mission to improve the health of underserved and vulnerable populations. The CMO collaborates with executive leadership, providers and clinical staff to advance quality improvement, patient safety, regulatory compliance, provider engagement, population health initiatives and organizational growth. The CMO serves as the primary clinical advisor to the Chief Executive Officer regarding medical services and clinical performance. Work Experience Requirements: • Provide leadership and oversight for all medical providers and clinical programs., • Promote a culture of quality, patient safety, accountability and continuous improvement., • Develop and implement clinical policies, protocols and standards of care consistent with evidence-based practices., • Ensure providers deliver comprehensive patient-centered care that aligns with FQHC principles and the Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) model., • Foster interdisciplinary collaboration among medical, behavioral health, dental, pharmacy and enabling services. Quality Improvement • Lead the organization's Quality Improvement (QI) and Quality Assurance (QA) programs., • Monitor clinical performance using established quality metrics, including UDS measures, HEDIS and value-based care indicators., • Analyze clinical outcomes and implement strategies to improve quality, patient experience and operational efficiency., • Chair or participate in Quality Improvement Credentialing, Peer Review, Infection Prevention, Pharmacy & Therapeutics and Risk Management committees. Medical Staff Leadership • Recruit, mentor, supervise and evaluate physicians, advanced practice providers and other licensed clinicians., • Conduct provider performance evaluations and professional development activities., • Oversee provider onboarding, credentialing, privileging, peer review and ongoing professional practice evaluation., • Promote provider engagement, retention and physician wellness. Regulatory Compliance • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local regulations., • Maintain compliance with Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Health Center Program requirements., • Support successful HRSA operational site visits and accreditation surveys., • Ensure compliance with HIPPA, OSHA, CMS, state licensing requirement and other regulatory standards. Population Health & Community Health • Lead initiatives addressing health disparities and social determinants of health., • Promote preventive care, chronic disease management, care coordination and integrated behavioral health., • Collaborate with community organizations to improve access to care and health outcomes., • Support programs focused on maternal health, pediatrics, geriatrics, chronic disease and preventive medicine. Strategic Leadership • Participate as a member of the Executive Leadership Team., • Assist in developing organizational strategic goals and clinical service expansion., • Evaluate opportunities for new service lines and clinical innovation., • Support grant applications, partnerships and initiatives the strengthen the health center's mission. Financial Stewardship • Collaborate with executive leadership on clinical budgeting and resource allocation., • Promote efficient utilization of clinical resources while maintaining quality standards., • Support productivity initiatives and value-based reimbursement strategies. Operational Oversight • Collaborate with the Chief Operations Officer and Clinical Director to improve clinical operations., • Monitor productivity and provider performance metrics., • Optimize patient access and continuity of care., • Support implementation and optimization of electronic health record systems. Patient Safety and Risk Management • Lead patient safety initiatives and adverse event review processes., • Oversee clinical risk management activities., • Ensure timely investigation and resolution of patient complaints related to clinical care. Education/Experience: (The minimum qualifications can be with any combination of education and/or experience.) • Doctor of Medicine (MD)., • Minimum of five years of progressive physician leadership experience, preferably in an FQHC, community health center or other ambulatory care setting., • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities., • Strong leadership and organizational skills., • Proficiency with electronic health records and healthcare technology., • Knowledge of FQHC regulations and HRSA Health Center Program requirements preferred., • Experience supervising physicians and advanced practice providers., • Demonstrated experience in quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and healthcare operations., • Experience working with underserved, uninsured and culturally diverse populations. Licensure/Certification: • Current unrestricted medical license in the State of Louisiana., • Current DEA registration., • Board Certification in an approved medical specialty., • BLS (American Heart Association) WHAT WE OFFER?
