Job DescriptionJob Title: Material HandlerJob Description The Material Handler plays a key role in receiving, inspecting, and organizing materials to support a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position unloads deliveries, verifies and records incoming materials in the ERP system, and ensures accurate, efficient material flow throughout the facility. The role requires strong attention to detail, safe operation of material handling equipment, and effective communication with Purchasing, Planning, Logistics, and Quality teams. Responsibilities • Unload deliveries and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices., • Inspect incoming materials for damage, defects, or discrepancies and document findings accurately., • Communicate any shortages, damages, or nonconformance issues to Quality and Purchasing teams in a timely manner., • Actively enter receiving transactions into the ERP system and ensure all data is accurate and complete., • Ensure all materials are properly labeled and barcoded in accordance with company standards., • Support the put-away of materials into correct storage locations to maintain accurate inventory and efficient material flow., • File and maintain accurate records of all incoming shipments and receiving documentation., • Ensure all receiving paperwork is complete, accurate, and properly routed to the appropriate departments., • Communicate regularly with Purchasing, Planning, and Logistics regarding delivery status, issues, or delays., • Assist in daily cycle counts and inventory reconciliation activities., • Verify that all system transactions match the physical movement and location of materials., • Support the investigation and resolution of inventory discrepancies., • Follow all company safety policies and procedures for material handling and warehouse operations., • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently., • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the receiving dock, staging areas, and storage locations., • Participate in mandatory overtime as needed to support production deadlines., • Use basic computer applications, including Microsoft Excel and Outlook, to support receiving and inventory control activities., • Read and interpret packing slips, purchase orders, and invoices to ensure correct materials are received and processed.Essential Skills, • High school diploma or equivalent required., • At least 1 year of experience in warehouses, receiving, or material handling within a manufacturing environment., • Forklift experience required, with the ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely., • Experience with inventory control and material handling processes., • Ability to use an ERP or WMS system to record and track receiving and inventory transactions., • Ability to read and interpret packing slips, purchase orders, and invoices., • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook., • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accurate documentation and inventory records., • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment., • Ability to lift up to 30–35 pounds and stand or walk for extended periods., • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb portable ladders as required by the role., • Good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination for safe operation of equipment and handling of materials., • Commitment to following safety policies and using required personal protective equipment.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Familiarity with ERP/WMS systems preferred., • Experience using RF scanners for inventory and receiving activities., • Experience coordinating shipping and receiving of large freight pieces., • Ability to carefully track and document all materials entering and leaving the facility., • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with Purchasing, Planning, Logistics, and Quality teams.Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a modern, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Mesa, Arizona, equipped with Industry 4.0 technology and advanced material handling systems. Positions are available on both first and second shifts, with first shift running Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and second shift running Monday through Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 3:30 a.m., including a shift differential for second shift. Training takes place on first shift, and mandatory overtime on Fridays may be required to meet production deadlines. The work involves frequent standing, walking, lifting up to 30–35 pounds, and performing tasks that may require stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing portable ladders. The role requires regular use of forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and other material handling equipment, as well as adherence to safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment. The receiving dock and staging areas are active, high-traffic environments where cleanliness, organization, and safe material flow are essential. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mesa, AZ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.30/hr.
