This is a role for someone with a canine background (trainer, kennel, grooming) who understands hard work, how to deliver and train others to provide top safety-focused, enriching and an overall great environment for the dogs in our care, and the coaches who care for them. Highly observant and safety-focused They notice small changes in dog behavior, team performance, cleanliness, and facility issues before they become bigger problems. Hands-on and hardworking This person cannot be “above the work.” They need to jump into playrooms, cleaning, feeding, wellness checks, bathing, and daily operations when needed. Strong coach and communicator They should enjoy training others, giving feedback, holding people accountable, and helping newer team members improve without discouraging them. Organized multitasker They need to manage schedules, labor, call-outs, cleaning checklists, dog notes, training completion, team huddles, and incident follow-up while keeping the day running smoothly. Core Duties • Safety is #1, • Ensures operations are being maintained to the highest standards, while always addressing areas for improvement within the Daycare, • Oversees weekly work schedule for Canine Coaches and Rovers and submits to General Manager for review, • Stays within budgeted labor cost, • Minimize overtime, • Control labor by actively managing shift and determining necessary level of staffing, • Manages call-outs accordingly, • Maintains optimum staffing levels, • Leads by example, positive attitude, and servant leadership, • Motivate, train, and develop Back of House employees focusing on excellent customer service, exemplary cleaning and safety, • standards, strong dog control and care, • Actively communicates team growth and developmental needs to leadership team, • Follows-up with team members on all requests, concerns, and goals, • Actively assists in pursuing and hiring back of house team members, • Effectively on-boards all approved new hires, • Communicates, tracks, and assists with all significant pet parent issues and concerns, employee issues and concerns, and dog injuries, sickness, and behavior issues and concerns, • Plans, prepares, and conducts daily shift huddles with other members of the team. Contributes consistently to monthly team meetings. Recommends employee incentive programs and other employee related activities, • Oversees all Canine Coach and River activities, • Clean and Safe Environment to ensure our furry friends are always in a safe and clean environment we take pride in working as a team to get all the nitty gritty complete, • Maintains facility cleanliness and upkeep using the standards in the Dogtopia OSM, • Creates, utilizes, and manages Behavior Modification Plans for dogs with unwanted behaviors, • Ensures correct usage of cleaning products for proper cleaning and sanitization as well as eliminating any waste, • Properly handle all dog and employee injuries, • Maintains OSHA standards Health and Grooming, • Report dog scuffles right when they occur for safe wound cleaning if needed, • Work with team to assure our Quality of Care sets the standards for dog care Customer Service and Presentation, • Ability to work cohesively with their team in a respectful and professional manner, • Help coach the team on our Dogtopia-isms.
