Details\n \n • Work in a 32-bed Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit at a 337-bed community hospital\n, • Patient population includes stroke, seizure, altered mental status, generalized weakness, AKI/CKD, falls, cellulitis, and non-healing wounds\n, • Standard RN patient ratio is 1:5-6, with potential surge ratios up to 1:7-8\n, • 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 36 hours per week\n, • Every other weekend rotation required\n, • Travelers are expected to work 75% of assigned holidays\n, • Floating required within Region 2 facilities, including Pineville, Anson, Union, Union West, and the Central Division (CMC Main, CMC Mercy, and Levine Children's Hospital); candidates unwilling to float to all listed facilities should not apply\n, • EMR: Epic (experience required)\n, • IV Pump: Alaris; medication dispensing: Omnicell; patient monitors: Philips; communication: Rover\n, • No remote telemetry monitoring — telemetry reading and posting each shift is the responsibility of the unit clerk, charge/clinical supervisor, and staff nurses\n Requirements\n \n, • Active RN license in NC or a compact state currently in hand\n, • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)\n, • Minimum 18 months of Med/Surg Tele experience, with most recent experience within the last year\n, • Proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation and experience with non-titrating cardiac drips (Cardizem/Amiodarone)\n, • General medical/surgical nursing skillset required\n, • Epic EMR experience required\n, • Candidate's permanent address must be located more than 50 miles from the facility (locals not accepted)\n, • Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration\n, • Minimum of 1 professional reference dated within the past year, from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN\n Additional Information\n \n, • Unit support includes CNAs, a receptionist/HUC, a free-floating charge nurse, 24/7 phlebotomy, a 24/7 IV/VAT team, a unit-dedicated pharmacist, two case managers, a Med/Surg Clinical Nurse Specialist, 24/7 respiratory therapy (including nebulizer treatments), a nurse educator, 24/7 hospitalist coverage, and APP support\n, • Orientation includes a new employee orientation (NEO) session plus 2 days of departmental orientation\n, • RNs are required to wear navy blue scrubs\n, • The unit culture is described as family-oriented\n, • First-time travelers are welcome to apply\n, • Candidates who have previously held a permanent position at an Advocate Health Southeast (AHSE) facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before being considered\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-736052.
