Job Description Commercial Carpenters Needed Pay: $25-$30/hr Location: Charlotte, NC OSHA 30 Required This role offers the opportunity to work as a Carpenter Technician on several large-scale commercial construction projects, with a strong focus on exterior rough carpentry and concrete work, followed by interior finish carpentry. You will contribute to the construction and renovation of commercial office buildings and other facilities, supporting projects across the Charlotte–Greensboro, NC area while helping maintain a clean and safe job site. Responsibilities • Perform start-to-finish carpentry on commercial construction and renovation projects, including rough and finish work., • Execute exterior rough carpentry tasks such as installing exterior sheathing, wood and metal framing, and constructing temporary structures and barriers., • Lay out and construct exterior walls with precise measurements and accurate layouts using tape measures and other tools., • Install fascia, blocking, backing, and trim to required specifications and quality standards., • Install doors, frames, hardware, cabinets, windows, and other trim components in commercial environments., • Work with metal studs and framing systems for walls and partitions., • Perform drywall-related tasks as part of remodeling and finish work on commercial projects., • Assist with concrete construction, including constructing and stripping concrete forms for footings, foundations, walls, and slabs., • Set and align formwork using Symons forms, gang forms, aluminum forms, and job-built wood forms., • Support concrete placement and finishing for sidewalks, curbs, slabs, driveways, and other site concrete elements., • Install anchor bolts, embeds, and sleeves, and verify form alignment, bracing, and elevations., • Apply knowledge of concrete curing and protection methods to ensure quality and durability., • Use scaffolding and elevated work platforms safely while performing carpentry and concrete tasks at height., • Maintain a clean and safe work area by regularly picking up materials, tools, and debris throughout the shift., • Travel between project locations in the Charlotte and Greensboro, NC region, including work at industrial plants and airports., • Follow all applicable safety procedures and site rules, including those related to commercial facilities such as schools and hospitals. Essential Skills • Hands-on experience in residential or commercial rough and finish carpentry., • Proficiency in start-to-finish carpentry, including framing, rough builds, and trim work., • Ability to work confidently with exterior rough carpentry, including sheathing installation and structural framing., • Skill in metal stud framing for commercial wall and partition systems., • Competence in installing molding, cabinets, doors, windows, and other finish trim components., • Experience with drywall work in commercial and renovation settings., • Capability to perform remodeling carpentry tasks from demolition through reconstruction., • Strong exterior carpentry skills, including layout and construction of exterior walls and installation of fascia, blocking, backing, and trim., • Experience installing doors, frames, and hardware in commercial buildings., • Comfort working on scaffolding and elevated work platforms while maintaining safety standards., • Ability to perform precise measurements and layouts using tape measures and other measuring tools., • Concrete construction experience, including constructing and stripping forms and setting formwork for footings, foundations, walls, and slabs., • Familiarity with Symons forms, gang forms, aluminum forms, and job-built wood forms for concrete work., • Experience with sidewalks, curbs, slabs, driveways, and other site concrete finishing., • Knowledge of concrete curing and protection methods to ensure proper strength and finish., • Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment on active construction sites. Additional Skills & Qualifications • OSHA 30 safety certification., • Journeyman-level carpentry certification or equivalent experience., • Experience working on large-scale commercial construction projects., • Background in commercial environments such as industrial plants, airports, schools, and hospitals., • Ability to work as both a skilled and unskilled carpenter technician depending on project needs., • Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions on active construction sites., • Ability to travel between project locations in the Charlotte–Greensboro, NC region as required.
