Job Description Job Title: Commercial Carpenter Shift: 7am-3:30pm Mon-Fri Pay: $25-33/hr Depending on Experience Job Description The Carpenter Foreman oversees the installation and repair of metal doors and related carpentry work on new construction projects, with a strong focus on ADA-compliant installations in healthcare and assisted living environments. This role combines hands-on carpentry, blueprint reading, and crew leadership to deliver high-quality temporary and permanent doors, walls, and finishes using hand and power tools. Responsibilities • Install and repair metal doors and related hardware in new construction projects, ensuring accuracy, safety, and durability., • Cut, measure, and assemble wood to build temporary doors, walls, and other structures as required by project plans., • Read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings to plan and execute carpentry tasks in alignment with project specifications., • Perform framing, rough carpentry, and finish carpentry, including trim work, drywall work, and metal stud installation., • Lead and supervise a crew of 2–3 carpenters and technicians, assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and ensuring quality workmanship., • Ensure all door installations, including metal door systems, meet ADA requirements and healthcare construction standards., • Use a variety of hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete daily carpentry and installation tasks., • Coordinate with other trades and site personnel to maintain smooth workflow and meet project timelines., • Inspect completed work for quality, adherence to plans, and compliance with building codes and ADA guidelines., • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, enforcing proper use of PPE and adherence to safety protocols at all times., • Adapt to working in partially completed or non-climate-controlled buildings, managing work in varying weather and site conditions., • Communicate clearly with team members and site leadership regarding project status, issues, and resource needs. Essential Skills • Experience in door installation and repair, including metal door systems., • Hands-on experience with rough carpentry, framing, finish carpentry, trim work, drywall, and metal stud installation., • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings., • Significant ADA construction experience, particularly related to door installation and accessibility requirements., • Experience working in healthcare construction or similar environments such as hospitals, medical clinics, and assisted living facilities., • Proficiency in using a wide range of hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently., • Experience as a door technician or installer, with responsibility for precise measurement and fitting., • Ability to lead and supervise a small crew, providing direction and ensuring consistent quality and productivity., • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality carpentry and finish work., • Ability to work full-time in the field and remain productive in varying site and weather conditions. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience in new construction projects such as office/warehouses, metal buildings, hospitals, medical clinics, churches, community centers, daycare centers, and dental facilities., • Familiarity with healthcare construction standards and practices., • Comfort working on ADA-focused projects, including specialized accessibility installations., • Ability to collaborate effectively with other trades and site teams., • Strong problem-solving skills to address installation challenges and on-site issues., • Reliable work ethic with the flexibility to stay beyond scheduled hours when required. Work Environment This is a field-based role, with 100% of the time spent on active job sites. Work centers on new construction projects such as daycare and assisted living facilities, as well as other commercial and healthcare-related buildings. Standard hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with the possibility of staying later when project needs require. You must wear appropriate PPE at all times and be comfortable working in the elements, as some buildings may be partially completed or not yet climate controlled. The environment involves regular use of hand and power tools, movement around active construction areas, and adherence to safety standards throughout the workday. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Jacksonville, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $33.00/hr.
