Job Description Job Title: Carpenter Laborer Job Description This role focuses on constructing and assembling wall panels, floor systems, and roof structures in a manufacturing construction setting. You will perform framing work with wood and other materials, interpret construction drawings, and use a variety of hand and power tools to deliver high-quality, structurally sound assemblies. The position requires strong framing experience, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality craftsmanship. Responsibilities • Construct and assemble wall panels, floor systems, and roof structures using wood and other framing materials., • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to ensure accurate layout and execution., • Install framing components including studs, joists, rafters, and sheathing with precision and efficiency., • Perform rough and finish carpentry tasks such as wood framing, trim work, doors, cabinetry, and other installations as needed., • Use hand and power tools safely and effectively, including nail guns, saws, levels, tape measures, and other measuring devices., • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, following all safety procedures and regulations., • Collaborate with supervisors and other trades to meet project timelines and quality standards., • Ensure all work complies with applicable building codes, safety regulations, and structural requirements., • Assist with general labor tasks related to new construction and modular or manufacturing-based projects., • Perform basic painting, finishing, and other related tasks to complete assemblies as required. Essential Skills • At least 3 years of framing experience in residential or modular construction., • Journeyman-level framing carpentry experience with a minimum of 3 years in the trade., • Strong understanding of framing techniques, materials, and structural principles., • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications., • Proficiency with framing tools such as nail guns, saws, levels, tape measures, and other hand and power tools., • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a collaborative team., • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work., • Solid understanding of safety practices and the ability to follow safety procedures consistently. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience in a manufacturing or modular building environment is a plus., • Experience in residential construction, rough carpentry, and finish carpentry., • Experience with trim work, door installation, cabinetry, and other finish carpentry tasks., • Ability to perform general labor tasks related to construction and installation., • Skill in using a variety of hand tools and power tools for construction and installation work., • Familiarity with blueprint reading and layout for both rough and finish work., • Experience with new construction projects, including wood framing and structural assemblies., • Ability to perform basic painting and finishing tasks when needed., • Strong work ethic, reliability, and a consistent focus on safety and quality craftsmanship. The schedule runs Monday through Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. or 6am - 2:30pm for first shift, with occasional half-day Saturdays as needed. You will work with a variety of hand and power tools, including nail guns, saws, levels, and measuring devices, in a production-oriented environment that emphasizes safety, organization, and efficiency. The work involves standing for extended periods, handling materials, and collaborating closely with other trades and team members on the shop floor. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sacramento, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.
