Job DescriptionPosition Summary The Bartender is responsible for delivering an exceptional guest experience by preparing and serving beverages in a professional, efficient, and engaging manner. This role supports both hotel guests and local patrons by maintaining high service standards, ensuring compliance with brand expectations, and contributing to overall Food & Beverage revenue performance. The Bartender plays a key role in guest satisfaction scores by creating a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring consistent execution of service standards aligned with both Holiday Inn and Candlewood Suites brand expectations. Key ResponsibilitiesGuest Experience • Provide prompt, courteous, and personalized service to all guests, • Create a welcoming and engaging bar environment that encourages repeat business, • Anticipate guest needs and resolve concerns in real time, • Drive positive guest feedback, with a focus on achieving high satisfaction scoresBeverage Preparation & Service, • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with recipes and standards, • Maintain consistency in drink quality, presentation, and portion control, • Verify guest identification to ensure compliance with alcohol service laws, • Monitor guest consumption and ensure responsible alcohol service at all timesOperations & Revenue Focus, • Accurately process orders and payments using POS systems, • Upsell premium beverages, specials, and food offerings to maximize revenue, • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper stocking of bar area, • Support inventory control by tracking usage and minimizing wasteCompliance & Standards, • Follow all local, state, and company alcohol service regulations, • Adhere to IHG brand standards and property service expectations, • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in accordance with health department guidelines, • Participate in required training, including safety and service standardsTeam Collaboration, • Work closely with Front Desk, Kitchen, and Management teams to ensure seamless guest service, • Communicate effectively regarding guest needs, group business, and special events, • Support hotel initiatives, including promotions and group functionsQualifications, • Previous bartending or Food & Beverage experience preferred, • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail, • Basic math and cash handling skills, • Must meet minimum age requirements for alcohol servicePhysical Requirements, • Ability to stand for extended periods, • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs, • Frequent reaching, bending, and movement behind the barWork Environment, • Evening, weekend, and holiday availability required, • Fast-paced hospitality environment with direct guest interactionPerformance Expectations, • Consistently deliver high-quality guest experiences, • Maintain compliance with all operational and brand standards, • Contribute to positive guest satisfaction scores and F&B revenue growth, • Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and strong teamworkAdditional Notes This role is critical to the overall guest experience and perception of the hotel’s Food & Beverage offering.
