Job DescriptionJob Title: Wire CutterJob Description The Wire Cutter will pull and cut heavy electrical wire to fulfill customer orders, operate wire cutting and crimping equipment, and keep the wire department organized and clean. This role works primarily in a dedicated wire area within a large warehouse, handling dense and heavy spools of wire and supporting occasional inventory tasks. Responsibilities • Pull wire for customer orders according to specifications and bundle multiple wires onto new spools as needed., • Handle dense and heavy wire, including pulling and managing wire that can be up to 1 inch thick and multiple lines at once., • Operate electrical crimpers, cutters, and related machines to accurately cut wire to required lengths., • Organize spools of wire and other materials within the wire department to maintain an orderly work area., • Use a forklift to move spools to and from racking when needed, if trained and authorized., • Assist with occasional inventory counts and documentation in the wire department., • Perform general housekeeping tasks such as sweeping, scrapping materials, and keeping the work area clean and safe., • Follow all safety procedures when lifting, pulling, cutting, and moving wire and materials., • Identify different widths and gauges of wire and ensure the correct wire type is used for each order., • Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and support a smooth workflow in the warehouse.Essential Skills, • Experience using wire cutters and wire crimpers in a warehouse, electrical, or industrial setting., • General labor experience in a physical, hands-on role., • Electrical background with the ability to understand and identify different wire widths and gauges, such as 500 MCM copper., • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds independently and frequently throughout the shift., • Comfort working with dense, heavy wire and managing multiple lines at once., • Basic understanding of spooling wire and working with spooling machines., • Attention to detail to ensure accurate cutting, bundling, and labeling of wire., • Commitment to following safety procedures and maintaining a clean work environment.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience operating a forklift to move spools and materials in a warehouse environment (nice to have but not required)., • Familiarity with electrical components and terminology., • Ability to work effectively in a busy, high-volume warehouse environment., • Strong organizational skills to manage spools, materials, and inventory in the wire department., • Reliability and consistency in meeting physical demands and daily production needs.Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in a large warehouse environment of approximately 125,000 square feet, working specifically in the dedicated wire area. The role is on second shift, typically 11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with initial training on a 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. schedule for a couple of months until you can perform the role independently. The work is physically demanding and requires the ability to lift 75 pounds independently and frequently, handle heavy and dense wire, and spend most of the shift on your feet. You will work with wire cutting and crimping machines, spooling equipment, and may use a forklift to move spools on and off racking. The environment is fast-paced and production-focused, with an emphasis on safety, organization, and housekeeping to maintain a clean and efficient wire department. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Saint Louis, MO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
