Job Description Job Title: General Labor Job Description This role supports a busy rental department by loading and unloading staging equipment, preparing materials for shipment, and performing basic repairs and maintenance on stage decks and components. You work hands-on in a heavy manufacturing environment, helping ensure staging equipment is safe, clean, and ready for large-scale events and concerts. Responsibilities • Unload and load 4x8 stage decks from trucks, using team lifts for heavy parts weighing up to approximately 100 pounds., • Unload bolts, legs, and other staging components from trailers and trucks., • Prepare materials and staging parts for shipping, including organizing and staging outgoing orders., • Receive incoming parts and materials through the receiving area and verify they are properly accounted for., • Organize warehouse staging parts to maintain an orderly, accessible inventory of decks, legs, bolts, and related components., • Work in the repair shop during downtime to clean, debur, and bond parts when stage decks, pillars, or joints sustain damage during rental use., • Polish metal components when needed to maintain a clean, professional appearance of staging equipment., • Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for basic repairs, cleaning, and preparation tasks., • Support general warehouse and production activities as needed, including general labor tasks in a heavy manufacturing environment., • Communicate in English to follow instructions, coordinate team lifts, and ensure safe handling of equipment. Essential Skills • Experience with general labor in a warehouse, construction, production, or similar hands-on environment., • Ability to safely load and unload trailers of staging equipment, including team lifting heavy components up to approximately 100 pounds., • Comfort working with hand tools and power tools for cleaning, deburring, bonding, and basic repair tasks., • Ability to polish metal components as needed to maintain equipment quality., • Capability to work in a heavy manufacturing environment, including outdoor work in hot weather., • Strong organizational skills to keep staging parts and warehouse areas orderly., • Ability to communicate effectively in English to follow directions and work safely with others. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Prior experience working with staging equipment or in a staging company environment that supports large concerts or events., • Experience in construction, production, or similar fields that involve manual labor and equipment handling., • Familiarity with warehouse operations, including receiving, shipping, and inventory organization., • Comfort working around large-scale event production equipment and structures. Work Environment You work in a heavy manufacturing environment that supports staging for large concerts and events. The schedule runs from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., providing a consistent daytime shift. Work takes place both indoors in the warehouse and repair shop and outdoors, including time spent in the hot sun when loading and unloading trucks or handling equipment outside. You regularly handle metal staging components and large decks, using hand tools and power tools for cleaning, deburring, bonding, and polishing. The role requires steel toe boots as part of the dress code to ensure safety when working around heavy equipment and materials. The environment is active, physical, and team-oriented, with a focus on safe lifting practices and careful handling of staging equipment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Torrance, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
