Job DescriptionQC ChemistPosition Summary The QC Chemist is responsible for sampling, testing, documenting, and releasing incoming raw materials used in cosmetic and personal care manufacturing. This role ensures materials meet quality, regulatory, and specification requirements prior to production. Key Responsibilities • Sample, inspect, and test incoming raw materials and packaging components., • Perform analytical and physical testing, including pH, viscosity, specific gravity, appearance, odor, color, moisture, and FTIR analysis., • Evaluate results and determine material disposition (release, reject, or quarantine)., • Conduct wet chemistry testing and operate laboratory equipment, including pH meters, titrators, balances, and spectrophotometers., • Maintain accurate laboratory documentation in compliance with cGMP, GLP, SOPs, and data integrity requirements., • Perform instrument calibration, verification, and routine maintenance., • Assist with OOS investigations, corrective actions, and vendor qualification activities., • Maintain laboratory inventory and ensure the lab remains organized and audit-ready., • Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, Warehouse, and Supply Chain teams., • Support continuous improvement initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications Education • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or related scientific field preferred., • Associate degree with relevant laboratory experience may be considered. Experience • 1-2 years of Quality Control laboratory experience preferred., • Cosmetics, personal care, pharmaceutical, food, or other regulated manufacturing experience is a plus., • Experience with raw material testing and release activities preferred. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chatsworth, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
