Job DescriptionJob Title: Machine Operator Job Description This role operates production machinery used to shape, cut, form, and process aluminum materials in a metal fabrication environment. The Machine Operator sets up and runs equipment according to production specifications, monitors product quality, and follows established safety and ISO standards. The position requires strong technical aptitude, precise measurement skills, and the ability to read shop schematics and drawings while maintaining accurate production records. Responsibilities • Operate machines that shape, cut, form, and process aluminum materials in a manufacturing setting., • Set up equipment for each production run, including loading raw materials and adjusting machine settings as permitted., • Inspect materials and products to ensure they meet specified standards, checking at least every first and tenth part against required specifications., • Make necessary adjustments to machines or processes to correct quality or production issues., • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning and lubricating equipment, and promptly notify maintenance when repairs are needed., • Follow all safety procedures and protocols, including proper use of protective equipment and maintaining a hazard-free work area., • Identify and troubleshoot issues with machinery and escalate to management as needed to minimize production downtime., • Keep detailed and accurate production records, including correctly clocking in and out on work orders and recording doppler numbers., • Ensure all work complies with applicable ISO standards and documented procedures., • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding production status, issues, and process improvements., • Perform other duties as assigned to support production goals and operational needs.Essential Skills, • Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically with industrial manufacturing machine operation., • Hands-on experience operating manufacturing machines such as punches, computerized saws, benders, and related equipment., • Ability to operate machinery in a metal fabrication environment, including saws, punch presses, and fabrication equipment., • Proficiency in reading and interpreting shop schematics and shop drawings., • Ability to accurately read and interpret a tape measure., • Strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple tasks and production runs., • High level of attention to detail and accuracy in machine setup, measurement, and inspection., • Effective verbal and written communication skills., • Ability to read and write English to follow work orders, safety procedures, and technical documentation., • High school diploma or equivalent., • Willingness and ability to work 40 hours per week with overtime as required.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience with aluminum processing and fabrication is highly beneficial., • Familiarity with ISO standards and working in an ISO-compliant production environment., • Comfort using measurement tools and basic shop instruments beyond tape measures., • Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate production and quality records., • Proven track record of working safely in an industrial or manufacturing environment.Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is a first shift role, typically working from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with an additional overtime day on Friday of approximately eight hours as needed. The work takes place in an industrial manufacturing and metal fabrication facility with production machinery such as punches, computerized saws, benders, and related equipment. The environment is fast-paced and production-focused, with an emphasis on safety, adherence to ISO standards, and proper use of personal protective equipment. Employees should expect to be on their feet for much of the shift and to work with metal materials, machinery, and standard shop tools in a structured, process-driven setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Louisville, KY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
