Job Title: Environmental Project Manager Job Description This role leads the planning, execution, and completion of environmental due diligence, permitting, and remediation projects across Kansas, Missouri, and surrounding areas. The Environmental Project Manager oversees projects from start to finish, ensuring they meet regulatory requirements, stay within budget, and deliver high-quality results that align with client expectations. Responsibilities • Manage multiple environmental projects simultaneously, ensuring all projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards., • Oversee comprehensive project planning, including defining project scope, developing detailed project schedules, and identifying and allocating required resources., • Develop, track, and maintain project budgets, proactively managing costs to ensure projects remain within budgetary constraints., • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring client needs, expectations, and timelines are met or exceeded., • Conduct environmental site assessments, including Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments, and analyze collected data to support project decisions., • Prepare clear, accurate, and comprehensive reports that meet regulatory requirements and address client needs., • Collaborate closely with internal and external teams, including project scientists, engineers, and regulatory experts, to ensure coordinated and successful project execution., • Ensure compliance with all relevant federal and state environmental regulations and guidelines, including those established by the Environmental Protection Agency and applicable state regulatory entities., • Develop and maintain productive relationships with regulatory agencies to stay informed about regulatory changes, expectations, and best practices., • Maintain accurate project documentation and records, including permitting documentation, data management files, and project correspondence., • Utilize tools such as Microsoft Excel and ArcGIS to manage data, perform analyses, and support project reporting and decision-making. Essential Skills • Minimum of three to five years of experience in environmental consulting and/or environmental project management., • Bachelor's degree in geology or a closely related field., • License to practice geology in the state of Kansas, or the ability to obtain licensure within one year of hire., • Proven project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize competing deadlines., • Experience conducting Phase I environmental site assessments., • Experience conducting Phase II environmental site assessments and interpreting environmental data., • Strong knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations and guidelines, including those relevant to due diligence, permitting, and remediation., • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex technical information to diverse audiences in both written and verbal formats., • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail when reviewing data, reports, and regulatory requirements., • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing effectively as part of a collaborative team., • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including strong skills in Microsoft Excel for data entry, tracking, and analysis., • Experience with documentation management related to environmental permitting and regulatory compliance., • Proficiency with ArcGIS or similar geographic information systems for mapping and spatial analysis. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience working on environmental projects in Kansas, Missouri, and surrounding states., • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with regulatory agencies., • Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, including scientists, engineers, and regulatory specialists., • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage detailed documentation and multiple concurrent tasks., • Comfort working directly with clients, including managing expectations and providing regular project updates., • Interest in staying current with evolving environmental regulations, industry standards, and best practices. Work Environment This position offers a primarily work-from-home environment, providing flexibility in where you complete most of your day-to-day responsibilities. Some office work may be required based on project needs, client meetings, or team collaboration activities. You will use standard office technologies, including Microsoft Office and ArcGIS, to manage data, documentation, and project communications. The role involves a mix of independent work and virtual or in-person collaboration with internal teams and external partners, with occasional travel possible within Kansas, Missouri, and surrounding areas depending on project requirements. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Topeka, KS. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
