Job Description Aerotek is seeking a Quality Control Inspector Job Description This role focuses on performing liquid penetrant testing on welds and conducting visual and dimensional inspections on fabricated, machined, and assembled parts. The Quality Control Inspector documents inspection results with photographs and detailed records, supports non-destructive testing activities, and contributes to maintaining an effective quality management system. Responsibilities • Perform liquid penetrant testing (LP) on welds, including applying penetrant, allowing appropriate dwell time, cleaning, and evaluating indications., • Spray penetrant onto welds, allow it to sit for the required period, remove the penetrant, and accurately record inspection results., • Capture clear and detailed photographs of materials, welds, and inspection results for documentation purposes., • Organize and maintain job folders, ensuring all inspection records, photos, and documentation are complete and properly filed., • Conduct visual inspection of fabricated, machined, and assembled parts to identify defects, nonconformities, and potential quality issues., • Perform dimensional inspections using appropriate measurement tools to verify that parts meet specified tolerances and requirements., • Assist with record keeping of inspections, including entering data into computer systems and maintaining accurate logs., • Support non-destructive testing activities in accordance with established procedures and quality control standards., • Follow and contribute to the quality management system by adhering to inspection procedures and reporting nonconformities., • Collaborate with team members and other departments as needed to ensure timely completion of inspections and documentation., • Work extended hours and night shifts as required to support production and inspection schedules. Essential Skills • 5+ years of quality control experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment., • Hands-on experience performing liquid penetrant testing on welds., • Level I or Level II liquid penetrant (LP) certification., • Strong experience inspecting welds for defects and compliance with specifications., • Ability to perform visual inspection of parts and welds to identify surface discontinuities., • Ability to perform dimensional inspection of fabricated, machined, and assembled parts., • Proficiency using a computer to maintain inspection records, logs, and job folders., • Experience with non-destructive testing (NDT/NDE) methods, specifically liquid penetrant inspection., • Background in quality inspection and quality control inspection in a production or fabrication setting., • Understanding of quality management system principles and procedures., • Ability to work comfortably 60+ hours per week, including night shifts and weekends as needed. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience inspecting machined parts is a plus., • Familiarity with weld inspection standards and best practices., • Experience working within a structured quality management system environment., • Ability to accurately document inspection findings with photographs and written reports., • Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistent, high-quality inspection work. The position is on the night shift, typically 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., Monday through Friday, with weekends as needed, and requires comfort with working 60+ hours per week. The setting emphasizes organized record keeping, computer-based logging, and consistent application of inspection procedures within a production-oriented facility. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Houston, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $29.00/hr.
