Restaurant General Manager \n \n Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago \n Chicago, IL | Full-Time | Salaried \n Salary Range: $85,000–$90,000 Annually \n \n Position Overview \n \n Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago is seeking an experienced and dynamic Restaurant General Manager to lead restaurant operations and deliver exceptional dining experiences. \n \n The Restaurant General Manager is responsible for managing, directing, and organizing restaurant operations while maintaining the highest standards of food and beverage quality, service, and guest satisfaction. This position provides hands-on leadership to the restaurant team, drives operational excellence, controls costs, supports marketing initiatives, and maximizes profitability through outstanding customer service. \n \n The ideal candidate is a passionate hospitality leader with extensive restaurant management experience, strong financial acumen, and a proven ability to inspire teams in a fast-paced luxury environment. \n \n Key Responsibilities \n \n\n • Interview, select, train, supervise, counsel, and discipline restaurant team members to ensure efficient and successful outlet operations.\n, • Organize and conduct pre-shift and departmental meetings to communicate pertinent information, including house counts, menu changes, operational updates, and service expectations.\n, • Schedule and direct team members in their daily work assignments.\n, • Maintain a visible presence throughout the restaurant and kitchen to monitor operations and take corrective action when necessary.\n, • Ensure food quality and service standards are consistently met by monitoring product temperatures, presentation, taste, preparation methods, and overall consistency.\n, • Regularly evaluate guest satisfaction and implement operational or marketing initiatives in response to guest feedback, demand, and market changes.\n, • Investigate and resolve food quality and service concerns with professionalism, tact, and a commitment to guest satisfaction.\n, • Build positive relationships with guests and create memorable dining experiences.\n, • Maximize restaurant profitability by implementing effective controls for food, beverage, and labor costs.\n, • Monitor the restaurant budget and work toward achieving budgeted revenue and labor targets.\n, • Maintain appropriate par stock levels through inventory management, ordering, receiving, and stocking.\n, • Evaluate the cost-effectiveness of restaurant operations and develop cost-saving and profit-enhancement initiatives.\n, • Prepare accurate forecasts, revenue reports, correspondence, and other operational documentation.\n, • Ensure compliance with all restaurant policies and procedures, as well as applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations.\n, • Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout all work and service areas.\n, • Participate in the development, implementation, and marketing of creative menus designed to attract target guests.\n, • Promote cross-selling opportunities across other hotel outlets and experiences.\n\n \n Additional Responsibilities \n \n\n • Participate in the development of the restaurant’s annual budget and short- and long-term financial operating plans.\n, • Attend mandatory divisional, departmental, staff, and leadership meetings.\n, • Participate in the hotel’s Manager on Duty coverage program.\n, • Support community and public relations initiatives for the restaurant and hotel.\n, • Utilize programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.\n, • Step into any supervised position when necessary during emergency situations.\n, • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.\n\n \n Leadership Responsibilities \n \n This position provides direct leadership and supervision to: \n\n • Assistant Restaurant Manager\n, • Hosts and Hostesses\n, • Servers\n, • Server Assistants\n, • Bartenders\n, • Runners\n\n \n Qualifications \n \n Education \n \n\n • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.\n, • Four-year college degree is a plus.\n\n \n Experience \n \n\n • At least five years of experience in a related field preferred.\n, • Hotel restaurant management experience preferred.\n, • Previous experience supervising employees is required.\n\n \n Licenses & Certifications \n \n\n • Ability to obtain any government-required license or certification.\n\n \n Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities \n \n\n • Thorough knowledge of restaurant operations, including food, beverage, service techniques, team supervision, and guest interaction.\n, • Strong mathematical skills, including the ability to work confidently with percentages and operational data.\n, • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.\n, • Ability to interact effectively with guests and team members, including situations requiring patience, tact, diplomacy, and conflict resolution.\n, • Ability to remain composed and effective under pressure during high-volume periods.\n, • Ability to accurately access and input information using moderately complex computer systems.\n, • Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to overall guest satisfaction.\n, • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing restaurant team.\n\n \n Physical Requirements \n \n This position requires the ability to: \n\n • Frequently walk and stand for extended periods of time.\n, • Occasionally sit, climb stairs, crouch, bend, and stoop.\n, • Frequently
