Job DescriptionJob Title: Commercial HVAC Install Technician Job Description The Commercial HVAC Install Technician installs, configures, and tests heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in commercial buildings. This role focuses on delivering high-quality, safe, and compliant installations while providing professional, customer-focused service and supporting team members on project sites. Responsibilities • Install a wide range of HVAC systems and components, including furnaces, air handlers, indoor coils, UV lights, air cleaners, humidifiers, outdoor coils, and outdoor units in commercial facilities., • Design, fabricate, and install duct fittings and ductwork as required to meet system specifications and project needs., • Ensure all HVAC installations comply with manufacturer specifications, internal standards, and applicable codes and regulations., • Diagnose and repair refrigerants, TXV valves, compressors, and other critical HVAC components to restore proper system operation., • Perform start-up procedures on air conditioning systems, confirming correct performance and making adjustments as needed., • Inspect and verify electrical wiring, thermostats, and distribution systems to identify and resolve issues affecting system functionality., • Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and services performed, ensuring clear documentation for future reference., • Conduct thorough inspections of installed systems to confirm safe, efficient, and reliable operation., • Provide high-quality customer service, maintaining a professional rapport with clients throughout the installation and service process., • Guide and advise customers on selecting appropriate air quality systems and solutions based on their needs and building requirements., • Address client concerns promptly and effectively, ensuring a positive experience and high levels of customer satisfaction., • Work independently under minimal or no supervision, managing tasks and priorities to meet project deadlines., • Share technical knowledge and provide training and guidance to HVAC installer helpers to support their development., • Collaborate with other team members and trades to ensure efficient project execution and coordinated installation activities.Essential Skills, • Hands-on experience installing commercial HVAC systems, including furnaces, air handlers, indoor and outdoor coils, UV lights, air cleaners, and humidifiers., • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to use hand tools safely and effectively in construction and installation environments., • Ability to design, fabricate, and install duct fittings and ductwork to meet project and system requirements., • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction blueprints and technical diagrams related to HVAC installations., • Technical expertise in diagnosing and repairing refrigerants, TXV valves, compressors, and other HVAC components., • Capability to perform start-up procedures on air conditioning systems and verify proper operation., • Knowledge of electrical wiring, thermostats, and distribution systems as they relate to HVAC equipment., • Solid understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and safety standards governing HVAC installation and service., • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly, build rapport, and address client concerns., • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of quality and safety., • Experience providing guidance and on-the-job training to HVAC installer helpers or junior technicians.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience working in construction environments, including general labor tasks associated with HVAC installation., • Background in piping and plumbing related to HVAC systems and associated mechanical components., • Comfort using a variety of hand tools and equipment commonly employed in HVAC and construction work., • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and other trades on commercial projects., • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records and documentation., • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to troubleshoot complex system issues in the field.Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Louisville, KY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $37.00/hr.
