Job Description Job Title: Experienced Electrician Job Description Seeking an experienced Electrician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in commercial and residential environments, with a focus on safe, efficient, and code-compliant work. Responsibilities • Install new electrical systems and components in commercial and residential buildings in accordance with applicable codes and standards., • Maintain existing electrical systems to ensure reliable and safe operation., • Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate testing tools and methods to identify root causes of failures or malfunctions., • Repair faulty wiring, fixtures, panels, and other electrical components in a timely and professional manner., • Read, interpret, and work from blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to plan and execute electrical installations and repairs., • Pull wire and route cabling through conduits, walls, and other building structures while maintaining neat and organized installations., • Follow all safety procedures and best practices when working on energized and de-energized systems., • Collaborate with other trades and project stakeholders to complete work efficiently and minimize disruption to building operations., • Document work performed and communicate status, issues, and recommendations to supervisors or project leads as required. Essential Skills • Minimum of 4 years of residential and/or commercial electrical experience., • Proficiency in electrical installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair., • Strong wiring skills, including pulling wire and installing conduit and related hardware., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams., • Solid troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving electrical issues., • Valid ET card (Electrician Trainee or equivalent, as applicable)., • Knowledge of relevant electrical codes, standards, and safety practices., • Ability to use common electrical tools, meters, and testing equipment effectively., • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience working on both commercial and residential projects., • Ability to plan work based on blueprints and schematics with minimal supervision., • Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and building staff., • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work., • Reliability and punctuality, with a consistent focus on safety and professionalism. Work Environment This role is based on a university campus, working within academic, administrative, and residential facilities. You will work in a variety of indoor environments, including classrooms, offices, labs, and common areas, with occasional access to utility rooms and service spaces. The position involves using standard electrical tools, testing equipment, and safety gear, and requires adherence to campus safety protocols and procedures. Work hours generally follow a standard schedule, with the potential for occasional variations based on project needs or maintenance windows. Dress is practical and safety-focused, including appropriate workwear and personal protective equipment as required for electrical work. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Thousand Oaks, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $35.00/hr.
