Job Description Job Title: Assembler Job Description This role focuses on assembling and packaging high-quality cases and related products that protect valuable equipment such as cameras and lighting accessories. You will work with hand and power tools, follow technical drawings and work instructions, and ensure accurate counting and packaging of inventory in a clean production environment. Responsibilities • Assemble various sizes of heavy-duty cases used to store expensive equipment such as cameras and lighting accessories., • Add foam inserts to each case according to technical drawings and work instructions., • Work on the flashlight line assembling mid-size flashlights as needed., • Use hand tools and small power tools, including small drills and hammers, to complete mechanical assembly tasks., • Operate a rivet machine for packaging and assembly processes., • Perform packaging tasks such as taping boxes, labeling, and preparing products for shipment., • Read and follow blueprints, technical drawings, and written work instructions accurately., • Count inventory and verify quantities to ensure accurate order fulfillment., • Lift and move materials and products weighing between 7 and 40 pounds safely throughout the shift., • Use pallet jacks and automated shrink-wrap machines after receiving on-the-job training., • Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety guidelines and procedures., • Inspect assembled products for quality and report any defects or issues to the appropriate personnel. Essential Skills • Experience in manufacturing and/or distribution environments (preferred but strongly valued)., • Ability to perform mechanical assembly using hand tools and power tools., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions., • Comfort working in a production or light industrial setting., • Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds safely and repeatedly as needed., • Capability to use hand tools such as hammers and basic assembly tools., • Capability to use power tools such as small drills and rivet machines after training., • Attention to detail when assembling products and counting inventory., • Ability to follow safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Previous experience in general labor, production, or light industrial work., • Familiarity with mechanical assembly of cases, equipment housings, or similar products., • Experience using pallet jacks and automated shrink-wrap machines., • Comfort working with both hand and power tools for extended periods., • Willingness to work any assigned shift, including 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift., • Interest in learning new production processes and equipment., • Reliability and strong work ethic in a temp-to-perm opportunity. Work Environment You will work in a clean production environment focused on the assembly of various sizes of heavy-duty cases and related products that store cameras, lighting accessories, and other sensitive equipment. The work involves standing for most of the shift, using hand and power tools such as small drills, hammers, and rivet machines, and handling materials that typically weigh between 7 and 35 pounds, with some tasks up to 40 pounds. Team members may also be trained to operate pallet jacks and automated shrink-wrap machines. The workplace provides safety glasses, gloves, and high-visibility vests, while employees supply their own steel-toe boots. Multiple shifts are available, including 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift, offering flexibility in scheduling within a structured light industrial setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Torrance, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $18.75/hr.
