Job DescriptionJob Title: Material HandlerJob Description The Material Handler is responsible for transporting and handling materials within a structural steel manufacturing facility. This role requires operating forklifts, overhead cranes, and other equipment to efficiently and safely move materials between designated locations. Responsibilities • Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other machinery to transport materials., • Collaborate closely with the welding team, machine operating team, supervisors, and managers to ensure smooth workflow., • Assist with loading, unloading, and organizing materials both in the air-conditioned production bay and outdoors., • Maintain open communication regarding the progress of daily tasks., • Follow and enforce all safety protocols to uphold the facility's priority of workplace safety.Essential Skills, • Proficiency in operating forklifts and overhead cranes., • Strong commitment to safety as the number one priority., • Ability to provide progress updates and maintain effective communication with team members., • Capability to work in both indoor and outdoor settings and perform physically demanding tasks.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience with material handling, general labor, production, inventory, RF scanner, steel manufacturing, picking, crane operation, industrial manufacturing, and forklift is beneficial., • Overhead crane experience is a plus., • Forklift experience is a plus., • Job tenure and the desire to work for an employee-owned company are advantageous.Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of El Mirage, AZ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.45 - $22.15/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
