Job DescriptionJob Title: Plumber – Medical Gas Installation (Construction Site)Job is located in Columbus, Ohio Job Description This role focuses on installing medical gas systems at a large hospital construction site in Columbus, Ohio. You will work as part of a construction plumbing team, running copper and stainless steel piping and performing brazing for a multi‑year project. The position is hands-on, field-based, and ideal for experienced plumbers who are comfortable working on complex mechanical and piping systems in an active construction environment. Responsibilities • Install medical gas piping systems throughout a large hospital construction project, ensuring all work meets applicable codes and safety standards., • Run and install copper and stainless steel pipe for medical gas systems, including cutting, fitting, and securing piping in place., • Perform high-quality brazing on copper and stainless steel piping, following industry best practices and project specifications., • Interpret and work from blueprints and mechanical drawings to lay out and install plumbing and piping systems accurately., • Use basic hand tools safely and effectively to complete plumbing installations and related tasks., • Coordinate daily tasks with site supervision and other trades to maintain efficient workflow and meet project milestones., • Follow all OSHA 10 safety practices and site-specific safety procedures, including proper use of lifts and other equipment., • Wear and maintain required personal protective equipment, including a type 2 hard hat and other standard PPE, at all times on site., • Participate in routine safety meetings and adhere to jobsite rules, including designated break times and work schedules., • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and materials are stored safely and properly at the end of each shift. Essential Skills • Proven experience as a journeyman plumber with a focus on construction and plumbing installs., • Hands-on experience installing and running stainless steel pipe for mechanical or medical gas systems., • Hands-on experience installing and running copper pipe, including preparation, fitting, and securing piping., • Demonstrated proficiency in brazing copper and stainless steel piping to a high standard of quality., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings for plumbing and piping installations., • Strong familiarity with construction environments, including plumbing, piping, and mechanical systems., • Proficiency using basic hand tools required for plumbing and piping work., • Current OSHA 10 certification., • Current lift certification to safely operate lifts on a construction site., • Capability to work early morning shifts and extended schedules, including most Saturdays, as required by the project. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience working on large-scale hospital or healthcare construction projects., • Prior exposure to medical gas systems and related codes and standards., • Comfort working on a long-term project, with the overall project expected to span approximately three years., • Ability to collaborate effectively with other trades and follow directions from site leadership., • Per diem eligibility for qualified travelers, subject to project and company policies. Work Environment The position is based on a large hospital construction site in Columbus, Ohio, specifically within a major children’s hospital project. The project is planned as a multi-year build, providing a long-term work environment. Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with a long break in the morning instead of a traditional lunch period. Saturdays have been intermittent but are expected to be scheduled regularly moving forward. You will work in an active construction setting that involves working at heights and using lifts, with power tools provided by the employer and basic hand tools supplied by you. The environment follows strict safety protocols, including required OSHA 10 standards and lift safety practices. A type 2 hard hat and other standard personal protective equipment are required at all times on site, reflecting a strong emphasis on safety and compliance in a busy, professional construction environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Fort Worth, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
