AFC Urgent Care Tustin is equipped with an on-site lab and in-house X-ray capability. Job Summary Perform radiographic imaging procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing injuries and disease. Cross-trained in Medical Assisting and Front Desk protocols. Responsibilities • Train and review best radiologic practices, • Greet patients and explain procedures to patients in a compassionate manner, • Position patients appropriately for diagnostic imaging procedures, • Practice ALARA radiation protection techniques, • Maintain a neat and clean working environment and ensure all supplies have been ordered and stocked, • Process images, review for proper identification and quality control and prepare images for reading by a physician as well as radiologist overreads, • Utilize both digital and non-digital diagnostic imaging equipment, ensuring compliance with approved radiology techniques and all policies and procedures, • Aid physician with prescribed patient treatments in accordance with approved standards, policies, procedures, and protocol as necessary., • Perform routine maintenance, diagnose malfunctions, and make minor repairs on equipment, arranging for repairs as needed, • Willingness to cross-train in other roles as appropriate including medical assisting and reception, • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned, including Medical Assisting and Front Desk protocols. Please see responsibilities for Medical Assisting/Front Desk Expectations., • Occupational Medicine & DOT related work flows Qualifications Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or six months to one-year related experience and/or training. ARRT-registered or board eligible preferred. Licensed per state regulation. In some states, Medical Assistant Certification or registry, Practical Nursing License, EMT or Paramedic certification is acceptable. DOT certification. Experience using Experity EMR is a plus! Responsibilities - Cross Trained Medical Assisting • Front desk protocols and patient satisfaction., • Experience understanding patient insurance intake and processing., • Obtain patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit, and prepare the patient for a physical exam, • Explain prescribed procedures and treatments to patients, • Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and in a timely manner, • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with the approved procedure, • Draw blood and preparation labs for reference lab processing and/or in-house processing, • Perform laboratory tests, lab-quality controls, and equipment maintenance according to written instructions, • Respond to all lab messages and call back requests, • Perform all drug screening procedures in accordance with established rules and regulations, • Ensure patient immunizations are well documented and administered in accordance with the approved procedure, • Conduct physician referrals as well as service pre-certifications on an as-needed basis, • Prepare exam rooms; sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures, • Maintain complete and accurate documentation, • Other duties and responsibilities as assignedResponsibilities - Cross Trained Medical Receptionist, • Prepare the clinic for opening each day by reviewing the facility, opening all systems applications, and preparing new patient registration packets and required documents, • Greet patients, provide patients with initial paperwork and obtain copies of insurance and identification cards, • Register patients, update patient records, verify insurance accurately and timely, and check patients out, • Determine, collect, and process patient payments and address collection and billing issues, • Respond promptly to customer needs, provide excellent customer service, assist patients with follow-up appointments, and fulfill medical documentation requests, • Balance daily patient charges (cash, check, credit cards) against system reports, • Complete closing procedures by preparing closing documentation and submitting required reports, • Complete cash control procedures and secure financial assets, • Maintain complete and accurate documentation, • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
