Job Description Pride Health is hiring Phlebotomist II Shift to support our client’s medical facility based in Wichita, KS 67218 and Wichita, KS 67235 . Title: Phlebotomist II Location: Wichita, KS 67218 and Wichita, KS 67235 Schedule: 8:45 AM – 5:45 PM Pay Range/Salary Range: $19 - $22 Contract Duration: 2+ months Key Responsibilities • Perform venipuncture and other specimen collections (e.g., urine and fecal samples) using straight and butterfly needles., • Verify patient identity, physician orders, and laboratory requisitions before specimen collection., • Accurately label, centrifuge, split, freeze, package, and store specimens according to established protocols and temperature requirements., • Explain specimen collection procedures to patients in a professional, courteous, and reassuring manner., • Maintain specimen integrity during processing and transportation., • Update patient information and maintain accurate documentation within laboratory systems., • Perform routine equipment maintenance, decontamination, and record maintenance logs., • Assist with troubleshooting, workflow improvements, and training as assigned., • Respond to telephone inquiries and communicate laboratory information as appropriate., • Adhere to OSHA, DEP, HIPAA, and all organizational safety and quality standards., • Participate in required annual training and departmental education programs., • Maintain a high level of punctuality, attendance, and professionalism. Qualifications • High School Diploma or GED required., • Valid Phlebotomy Certification, where required by state regulations., • Minimum of 6 months of recent phlebotomy experience in a fast-paced hospital, laboratory, or patient service center., • Overall 2–4 years of healthcare or phlebotomy-related experience preferred., • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer applications., • Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills., • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail., • Demonstrated knowledge of specimen handling, processing, and laboratory safety procedures. Work Environment & Additional Details • Average Blood Draws: Approximately 35 draws per day., • Work Setting: Clinic-based Patient Service Center (PSC)., • Patient Volume: The site serves approximately 80–120 patients daily., • Standing Requirement: Ability to stand and remain active for up to 8 hours per shift., • Patient Population: Collect specimens from patients of all age groups, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations., • Team Environment: Work collaboratively with a team of 4–6 healthcare professionals., • Training: Initial onboarding and training typically lasts 1–2 weeks, with ongoing learning and support throughout the assignment., • Health Requirements: Candidates may be required to provide Hepatitis B and Tuberculosis (TB) documentation in accordance with facility requirements. Training locations may vary based on trainer availability. Required Education 1. High school diploma or equivalent., 2. Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred., 3. Phlebotomy certification preferred. Required in California, Nevada, and Washington. Work Experience 1. Five years phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric and capillary collections., 2. Minimum 3 years in a PSC/IOP environment preferred., 3.
