Job Description JOB SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE The Quality & Calibration Technician is responsible for performing receiving inspections of incoming materials and maintaining the organization's calibration program to ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and quality system requirements. This position verifies incoming materials meet purchase order and engineering specifications, maintains accurate inspection and traceability records, coordinates the calibration of measurement equipment, and supports the overall effectiveness of the Quality Management System. To excel in this role, the successful candidate must possess strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to interpret engineering documentation. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Receiving Inspection • Perform receiving inspections of incoming materials, components, and assemblies., • Compare quantities, part numbers, and revisions against purchase orders and engineering documentation., • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and customer requirements., • Verify that Unique Identification (UID) markings are accurate and properly documented., • Ensure Certificates of Conformance (CoC), material certifications, and other required documentation are complete and accurate., • Verify lot numbers, batch numbers, date codes, and shelf-life information and accurately record required data in the MRP system., • Create, update, and maintain receiving inspection checklists as required., • Identify, document, and communicate nonconforming materials in accordance with company procedures., • Coordinate with Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Suppliers to resolve discrepancies involving incoming materials. Calibration • Perform precise calibration of electronic, mechanical, and measurement instruments to meet established standards., • Maintain and adjust calibration equipment to ensure optimal performance., • Maintain the Company’s calibration system for inspection, measurement, and test equipment., • Schedule and coordinate internal and external calibration activities to ensure equipment remains within required calibration intervals., • Maintain accurate calibration records and equipment history., • Issue, track, and label calibrated equipment – remove overdue or nonconforming equipment from service., • Create and maintain detailed records of calibration activities, test results, maintenance logs, and compliance reports. Quality Systems • Maintain accurate inspection and calibration records in accordance with Quality Management System requirements., • Follow ISO 9001, AS9100, customer, and company quality requirements., • Adhere to established safety practices, environmental management, and quality system requirements., • Follow all company policies, procedures, and work instructions., • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Quality department., • Perform other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications., • Knowledge of inspection techniques and precision measuring equipment., • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and PDF software., • Basic mathematical skills required., • Strong organizational and documentation skills., • Ability to work independently while supporting a team environment., • Strong verbal and written communication skills., • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines., • English reading, writing, and communication proficiency required. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE • High school diploma or equivalent required., • Two (2) years of experience in quality inspection, calibration, manufacturing, or a related technical field preferred., • Experience maintaining calibration systems or coordinating calibration activities preferred., • Experience using ERP/MRP systems preferred. PHYSICAL / ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS • Requires visual acuity sufficient to inspect components and read technical documentation., • Requires manual dexterity to safely handle inspection and measurement equipment., • Must be able to stand for extended periods, up to four hours at a time., • Must be able to occasionally bend, reach, kneel, and lift materials weighing up to 50 pounds., • Must be able to safely operate inspection equipment and handle incoming materials., • This position is conducted primarily in a warehouse and production environment and involves frequent movement, including walking, standing, lifting, and handling materials. Work may require operating material-handling equipment and performing tasks in areas with varying temperatures, noise levels, and typical industrial conditions.
