Job Description Job Title: Maintenance Technician II Job Description The Maintenance Technician II performs a wide range of skilled work to install, modify, design, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment and machinery used throughout the facility. Working under general supervision, this role supports safe and efficient plant operations by troubleshooting complex systems, performing preventive maintenance, and leading or mentoring junior technicians. Responsibilities • Test machinery and make necessary adjustments to complete machine product changeovers efficiently and accurately., • Inspect, diagnose, and repair faulty production machinery using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and voltage meters., • Troubleshoot and maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, and both high and low voltage electrical systems to minimize downtime., • Weld, solder, and connect various types of piping, including copper and PVC, for water and air distribution runs., • Operate forklifts, hoists, and rigging equipment to align, move, and set up machinery or equipment safely., • Read and follow plans, blueprints, and drawings to verify material components and machinery specifications for installation or repair., • Install machinery according to cut sheets, plans, and drawings, including all associated wiring, plumbing, hydraulic, and pneumatic connections., • Work with PLCs, VFDs, motor starters, contactors, relays, solenoids, and coils, using electrical schematics and manuals to aid in troubleshooting., • Accept and complete assigned projects in a timely manner, demonstrating initiative and a desire to expand technical skills., • Learn and use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to manage daily work order requests, charge parts, and track equipment failures., • Perform light electrical troubleshooting, such as checking fuses, contactor overloads, motor wiring, and ground faults. Essential Skills • Proven experience in mechanical maintenance and repair of production machinery and facility equipment., • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, including working with high and low voltage systems., • Hands-on experience with hydraulics and pneumatics, including troubleshooting and maintenance., • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, manuals, blueprints, plans, and cut sheets., • Experience with PLCs, VFDs, motor starters, contactors, relays, solenoids, and coils. Work Environment The Maintenance Technician II works in a plant environment that can range from cool to extremely hot, depending on the project and location within the facility. Some work may be performed outdoors. The role involves regular exposure to fuels, oils, cleaning solvents, and fumes from machinery. Safety is a top priority, and safety glasses must be worn at all times in the maintenance area and while working on machinery. Noise levels vary by project, and hearing protection is required. Additional personal protective equipment may be required based on specific tasks. The position involves hands-on work with mechanical and electrical equipment, use of tools and lifting devices, and adherence to established safety procedures and protective attire. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Las Vegas, NV. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $31.00/hr.
