Job Description Job Title: Aircraft Technician Job Description This role focuses on assembling and repairing integrated power plant systems for business aviation aircraft, with an emphasis on engine podding operations and support for production activities. You will assemble engines with power plant and nacelle components, perform intermediate troubleshooting, and ensure all work complies with aviation maintenance standards and regulatory requirements. The position requires the ability to pass an FAA-required eye exam and to safely lift engine components weighing up to approximately 50 pounds. Responsibilities • Comply with work scope instructions as directed by operations and engineering teams, ensuring all tasks meet quality and regulatory standards., • Assemble engines together with power plant and nacelle components to build integrated power plant systems according to specifications and technical documentation., • Use intermediate troubleshooting logic to identify defects in components or parts and take appropriate corrective action., • Access and use engine data materials such as aircraft maintenance manuals, engine maintenance manuals, and related technical documentation to perform maintenance and assembly tasks., • Understand, interpret, and apply service bulletins, FAA advisory directives, and technical variances when applicable to the work being performed., • Perform aviation engine assembly and aircraft maintenance tasks using appropriate hand tools and equipment, following blueprints and technical drawings., • Work collaboratively as part of a small, team-oriented group, supporting both podding operations and production activities as needed., • Work occasional evening shifts and required overtime when operational needs demand it., • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in a climate-controlled facility, adhering to all safety procedures and standards. Essential Skills • High School Diploma or equivalent with 2+ years of aircraft maintenance, repair, and/or overhaul experience, OR an Associate’s Degree with 1+ year of aircraft maintenance, repair, and/or overhaul experience., • Hands-on experience with aviation engines and aircraft systems, including aviation engine assembly and aircraft maintenance., • Ability to read, interpret, and work from aircraft maintenance manuals, engine maintenance manuals, and blueprints., • Ability to understand and apply service bulletins, FAA advisory directives, and technical variances., • Proficiency with basic hand tools used in aviation maintenance and assembly., • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word., • Ability to pass an FAA-required eye exam., • Ability to safely lift engine components weighing up to approximately 50 pounds., • Willingness to work occasional evening shifts and required overtime., • Strong teamwork orientation and ability to work effectively within a small team environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience as an aircraft technician performing maintenance, repair, and overhaul activities., • Familiarity with aviation maintenance practices and regulatory compliance requirements., • Comfort working with repetitive tasks while maintaining high attention to detail and quality., • Strong communication skills to collaborate with operations, engineering, and team members., • Ability to adapt to potential changes in shift structure, including transitions from four 10-hour shifts to five 8-hour shifts., • Commitment to safety and adherence to FAA and DOT regulations for safety-sensitive positions. Work Environment The work takes place in an extremely clean, climate-controlled facility focused on aviation engine and aircraft maintenance activities. Tools are provided on site, and work is performed primarily on a first-shift schedule, Monday through Thursday from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with the possibility of transitioning to a schedule of five eight-hour shifts. The role may require occasional evening shifts and overtime based on operational needs. The environment supports detailed, repetitive technical work on aircraft engines and integrated power plant systems, with a strong emphasis on safety, organization, and teamwork. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Savannah, GA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00/hr.
