Job DescriptionJob Title: AssemblerJob Summary We are seeking a dependable and mechanically inclined Assembler to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling products and components using hand and power tools, operating production equipment, and supporting daily manufacturing activities. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in an assembly or manufacturing environment, be comfortable reading measurements, and possess strong attention to detail while maintaining productivity and quality standards. This position requires individuals who can work independently with minimal supervision, follow detailed work instructions, and consistently adhere to safety and quality requirements. The Assembler plays a critical role in ensuring products are built accurately, efficiently, and delivered on time to customers. Key ResponsibilitiesMechanical Assembly • Assemble mechanical components, subassemblies, and finished products according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and production specifications., • Use various hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete assembly tasks., • Inspect components before assembly to ensure parts meet quality requirements., • Accurately fit, align, and secure parts and components to ensure proper functionality.Production Operations, • Operate basic manufacturing equipment and machinery in support of production requirements., • Monitor machine and equipment performance during operation and report any issues to supervisors., • Maintain production flow and meet daily production targets while ensuring product quality., • Assist in troubleshooting minor assembly and equipment-related issues.Measuring and Quality Control, • Utilize tape measures, calipers, gauges, and other measuring instruments to verify dimensions and specifications., • Conduct in-process inspections to identify defects or inconsistencies during assembly., • Ensure assembled products meet quality standards and customer specifications., • Complete quality checks and document production activities as required.Material Handling and Packaging, • Organize and stage materials needed for assembly operations., • Package completed products according to shipping and customer requirements., • Label, prepare, and move finished goods for shipment or storage., • Assist with inventory movement and warehouse support activities as needed.Safety and Compliance, • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and manufacturing guidelines., • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area using 5S and housekeeping standards., • Properly maintain and care for tools, equipment, and workstations., • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with workplace safety regulations.Team Support, • Collaborate with production, warehouse, quality, and supervisory teams to ensure operational efficiency., • Communicate production concerns, material shortages, or quality issues promptly., • Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing productivity and reducing waste., • Demonstrate flexibility in performing various production-related tasks as assigned.Required QualificationsExperience, • Minimum 1 year of recent assembly experience in a manufacturing or production environment., • Minimum 1 year of manufacturing experience working in a production facility., • At least 1 year of hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools., • Proven track record of reliable attendance and punctuality.Technical Skills, • Strong mechanical assembly skills and understanding of manufacturing processes., • Ability to safely operate basic manufacturing machinery and equipment., • Proficiency in using measuring tools such as tape measures and other inspection instruments., • Ability to read, understand, and follow written work instructions and verbal directions.Core Competencies, • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality., • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision., • Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills., • Strong work ethic and commitment to meeting production goals., • Effective communication and teamwork skills.Preferred Qualifications, • Experience as a Machine Operator, Production Technician, or Manufacturing Associate., • Experience working in warehouse, production, or general labor environments., • Knowledge of assembly line processes and lean manufacturing principles., • Experience packaging, labeling, and shipping finished products., • Familiarity with production metrics and quality control procedures., • Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn new equipment and assembly processes quickly.Physical Requirements, • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the work shift., • Frequent use of hands and arms to assemble products and operate tools., • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials up to company-established limits., • Ability to bend, reach, twist, kneel, and perform repetitive motions., • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with machinery, tools, and moderate noise levels., • Ability to maintain focus and productivity throughout the shift.Work Environment, • Manufacturing and production facility environment., • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM., • Regular use of hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and production equipment., • Fast-paced, hands-on work environment focused on safety, quality, and productivity., • Requires the ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision while maintaining high-quality standards., • Consistent attendance and Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Agawam, MA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
