Job Description Job Title: Groundskeeper / Handyman Job Description This role combines groundskeeping and basic maintenance to ensure the outdoor areas surrounding four commercial buildings near the North Cargo area at SEATAC Airport remain clean, safe, and well maintained. You will focus on landscaping, exterior upkeep, and minor repairs while using a powered work cart to move tools and supplies. You report to the main office daily, follow established checklists, and work closely with an onsite operations manager and a small local team. Responsibilities • Maintain the outdoor areas immediately surrounding four buildings in the North Cargo area at SEATAC Airport, focusing on cleanliness, safety, and appearance., • Perform routine landscaping tasks, including caring for bushes, small trees, and grass to keep the grounds neat and presentable., • Pick up trash and debris in parking lots and surrounding exterior areas on a regular basis., • Complete basic repairs on building exteriors, such as minor fixes, patching, and upkeep of exterior surfaces., • Perform exterior painting as needed to maintain the appearance and condition of building exteriors., • Use a powered work cart to safely transport tools, equipment, and supplies between buildings and the shop area., • Report to the office in the main building at the start of each shift to review daily and weekly checklists and project assignments., • Consult with the onsite operations manager to prioritize tasks and ensure completion of scheduled maintenance and projects., • Perform light cleaning and custodial tasks in exterior and designated areas, including sweeping and general tidying., • Walk between buildings (all within close walking distance) to complete assigned tasks throughout the day., • Use hand tools and basic power tools for home or building repair tasks in a safe and responsible manner., • Follow all safety guidelines and site procedures, including those related to working near airport facilities., • Communicate any issues, hazards, or larger repair needs to the operations manager in a timely manner., • Maintain organization of tools and supplies in the shop area and return equipment to proper storage after use. Essential Skills • At least 1+ years of landscaping or groundskeeping related experience., • At least 1+ years of basic construction, home repair, or building maintenance experience., • Proficiency using tools for basic home or building repair, including hand tools and basic power tools., • Experience with landscaping tasks such as trimming bushes, caring for small trees, and maintaining grass., • Experience in cleaning, housekeeping, custodial work, or sweeping in a facilities or grounds environment., • Valid Driver's License., • Ability to walk up and down stairs to the main office multiple times per day as needed., • Ability to spend most of the shift standing or walking, with frequent bending and crouching for cleaning and maintenance tasks., • Capability to work independently while following checklists and instructions from the onsite operations manager., • Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining clean, orderly, and safe outdoor spaces. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Previous experience as a groundskeeper, handyman, custodian, or maintenance technician., • Familiarity with working in or around commercial or industrial properties., • Comfort using a powered work cart or similar equipment to move tools and supplies., • Ability to work effectively as part of a small, close-knit team., • Strong communication skills to coordinate daily tasks and report issues to the operations manager., • Reliability and punctuality for a consistent weekday schedule., • Comfort working primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions. All buildings are within close walking distance, and a motorized cart is provided to move tools and supplies efficiently. The shop area is spacious and used for breaks, storing parts and supplies, and includes a private bathroom for your use. Parking is available on site. The work is physically active, involving frequent walking, standing, stair use, and occasional crouching, in a setting that combines outdoor grounds care with light indoor maintenance and support. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Seattle, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $47840.00 - $47840.00/yr.
