The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Fleet Asset Manager to lead the strategic management of one of the region's largest heavy equipment portfolios. This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for optimizing equipment investments, lifecycle planning, procurement strategy, fleet utilization, and capital deployment across a diverse fleet of heavy civil construction assets. Working directly alongside executive leadership, you'll help shape long-term fleet strategy while driving operational efficiency, reducing total cost of ownership, and maximizing return on capital. This is an excellent opportunity for a strategic equipment professional who enjoys combining operational expertise with financial analysis and long-term asset planning. What You'll Do: • Lead procurement of heavy construction equipment, including negotiation of pricing, warranties, financing, parts agreements, and equipment specifications., • Develop and execute fleet lifecycle strategies for on-road and off-road heavy equipment., • Partner with executive leadership on capital planning and long-term fleet investment strategies., • Analyze utilization trends and recommend acquisitions, redeployments, rentals, leasing options, or asset disposals., • Maintain complete visibility of fleet location, utilization, condition, and financial performance., • Track active, idle, underutilized, in-transit, and surplus equipment., • Manage relationships with OEM manufacturers, dealers, auction companies, and equipment vendors., • Evaluate equipment build specifications to ensure operational efficiency and long-term reliability. Qualifications: • 7+ years of experience in fleet management, heavy equipment operations, procurement, asset management, or construction equipment leadership., • Strong understanding of heavy civil construction equipment and fleet operations., • Proven experience negotiating high-value equipment purchases, leases, and vendor agreements., • Experience managing equipment lifecycle planning, utilization, depreciation, and replacement strategies., • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate capital investments and financial performance. Preferred Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, Fleet Management, or related discipline., • Experience with heavy civil contractors, infrastructure companies, aggregates, paving, mining, or large construction fleets., • Knowledge of ownership vs. rental vs. lease strategies and capital deployment models., • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365, Core, Eclipse, telematics platforms, or similar fleet software., • Strong understanding of equipment valuation, utilization analysis, depreciation, and total cost of ownership.
