EH&S Senior Specialist - Environmental - Indianapolis, IN The EH&S Senior Specialist - Environmental is a highly specialized technical expert with ownership responsibility for environmental compliance, monitoring, recordkeeping, and reporting. This position will drive improvements in electricity usage, waste to landfill, and water consumption as well as play a key role in driving engagement on environmental topics with Allegion's teammates. The EH&S Senior Specialist - Environmental will have ownership of the wastewater treatment plant operations, and waste management programs. This position will create, manage, and lead projects across multiple teams and reports to the site Environmental, Health and Safety Manager. Based on level of experience, this role could be an individual contributor position or a people leader with up to four (4) direct reports. • Environmental Program Ownership, • Cross-Functional Project Leadership, • Technical Leadership and Systems Management, • Compliance and Regulatory Leadership, • Operational Excellence, • A degree in a relevant discipline, e.g., Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, • Five or more years of experience in an industrial setting, • Preferred knowledge of Indiana and US environmental regulations and ISO 14001 Standards, • Preferred Indiana Waste Water Treatment Operator License or the ability to obtain one in the first six months, • Preferred experience with air permitting and reporting and hazardous waste management, • Extensive experience in wastewater treatment plant operations, specifically metal hydroxide precipitation, • Demonstrated experience in environmental program development and ownership, • Passion for people and the environment, • Ability to work in both a team and individual setting, • Resiliency and ability to adapt quickly, • Effective listening, time management and creative problem-solving techniques, • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), • Ability to use a variety of software applications to analyze, monitor data, conduct reports, and presentations., • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, extensive walking, confined spaces, wear a respirator and handle exposures to hot/cold environments.
