To find out more, please visithttps://future.cht.nhs.uk/ An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Consultant Radiologist with a special interest in urological imaging and non-vascular intervention to join our friendly and forward‑thinking team at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust. Applicants must hold a current GMC Licence to Practise. It is essential that candidates are either listed on the General Medical Council Specialist Register or are within six months of achieving CCT (for trainees currently in a UK training programme). Applicants who are not yet on the Specialist Register but can clearly demonstrate equivalent consultant‑level experience in chest and cardiac imaging will also be considered for this post. We are recruiting a Consultant Radiologist with expertise in urological imaging and non-vascular intervention to join our supportive and forward‑thinking Radiology team, delivering elective and emergency imaging services across Calderdale and Huddersfield. Fluoroscopic and ultrasound skills are essential for this role. The successful candidate will provide high‑quality imaging interpretation across ultrasound, CT and MRI. They will vet and report specialist scans, offer second opinions, participate in MDTs, and work flexibly across sites while maintaining competence in general imaging. The role includes participation in the on‑call rota, contribution to departmental functions such as education, audit, and modality groups, and adherence to Trust clinical governance and health and safety standards. The post also involves teaching, supervising trainees from the Leeds‑Bradford Radiology Academy, and engaging in research, audit, and service evaluation to support evidence‑based practice. We employ more than 6,500 staffwho deliver compassionate care from our two main hospitals,Calderdale Royal Hospital and Huddersfield Royal Infirmary as well as in community sites, healthcentres and in patients’ homes. We also are incredibly proud to have almost 150 volunteers here at CHFT. We provide a range of services including urgent and emergency care; medical; surgical; maternity; gynaecology; critical care; children’s and young people’s services; end of life care and outpatient and diagnostic imaging services. We provide community health services, including sexual health services in Calderdale from Calderdale Royal and local health centres. These include Todmorden Health Centre and Broad Street Plaza. A strong commitment to clinical governance, quality assurance, peer review, and adherence to Trust safety policies is essential, as is participation in maintaining accreditation under the Quality Standard for Imaging. • FRCR or equivalent, • Applicants must have Specialist Registration for Radiology or within 6 months of being admitted to the register for trainees, if currently in a training programme in the UK. In accordance with the regulations, all other categories of Doctors must be on the GMC specialist register to be considered for a consultant appointment by the Advisory Appointments Committee, • Must be able to demonstrate a high level of clinical experience and competence in all aspects of the Radiology specialty, • Must have experience working in a Radiology Sub‑Specialty, • Also, should have significant minor Radiology procedures experience and any other post graduate qualifications that can advance the department needs would be preferable, • Understanding current issues within the wider NHS, • Attendance at a recognised management course, • Shows ability to work with and lead others across professions, • Experience of and enthusiasm for clinical teaching of postgraduate doctors and non‑medical staff., • Academic achievements/evidence of familiarity with research methods which have resulted in publications, • Training in clinical and educational supervision, • Attendance at a teaching course, • Knowledge of Audit principles and evidence of participation in and completion of audit projects, • Critical Appraisal Skills, • Evidence of knowledge of research methodology, • Good communication and empathy skills with patients, • Evidence of willingness to participate in a multi-disciplinary team environment to provide an integrated service, • Ability to work as a member of a team, both through communication and sharing workload, • Ability to manage high pressur situations e.g. clinical crisis, • Ability to prioritise and organise workload and co-ordinate staff, • Ability to integrate the care of a patient by many and various other clinical staff, • Willingness to work flexibly to deliver clinically effective and cost effective healthcare, • Evidence of continual learning and development, • Understands self (strengths and weaknesses) and impact of behaviour on others, • Evidence of innovation, • Eligibility to work in the UK, • Ability to work in various locations throughout the network of services provided by Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust, • For areas requiring EPP Clearance (Exposure Prone Procedures), this will also be a requirement of the health screening, • An enhanced DBS disclosure will be required with the Disclosure and Barring Service Our vision is to provide One Culture of Care for one another in order that we can provide compassionate care for the people who use our services.
