We're looking for a fun, enthusiastic, passionate Kitchen Manager to join our hard-working team and lead our food operation from day one, someone who can build a team and build a reputation for the kind of quality that makes a pub the local favourite. The Role As Kitchen Manager, you'll be responsible for running the day-to-day kitchen operations and you'll take full ownership of day-to-day execution, from food prep to stock control. Your key focus is to drive the business forward, bringing our exceptional standards and values to life. You'll be hands-on in service, visible to the team, and accountable for a standard of food that matches the ambition of the venue. Main Responsibilities Food Standards Have an eye for detail, always upholding the highest standards, with consistently high levels of cleanliness maintained throughout the operation Guest Experience Have a genuine commitment to making people happy, guests and team alike, working hand-in-hand with the front-of-house team Food Safety & Compliance Accountable for COSHH, Food Safety, Health and Safety, legal regulations, environmental policies, and duty of care to customers and colleagues, including HACCP compliance at all times Team Leadership Proactively manage and support a team, train, and develop staff, delegate effectively, and lead a team that stays calm, sharp, and consistent under pressure Communication Maintain ongoing team communication through one-to-ones and on-the-job feedback Stock & Cost Control Maintain, order, and control food stocks within budget, minimising waste and protecting margins What We're Looking For Experience as a Head Chef / Kitchen Lead is desirable, or a Sous Chef ready to step up, ideally within a premium pub, gastropub, restaurant, or high-quality food-led venue Proven leadership ability with a proactive, hands-on approach A genuine passion for high-quality food, thoughtful preparation, and sourcing done properly Strong organisational skills and sharp attention to detail, nothing leaves the pass that you wouldn't be proud of A calm, positive leader who thrives under pressure, brings out the best in the team, and genuinely cares about people A genuine interest in being part of a pub that means something to its local community, not just another kitchen shift Level 2 Food Safety certification required; Level 3 preferred Why Join Us Monthly and quarterly bonus scheme, worth up to 20% of annual salary for hitting KPIs Employee referral bonus Cycle to work scheme Potential live-in opportunity available Be part of the opening team of a landmark reopening in an exceptionally strong, affluent local catchment A leadership approach built on People, Purpose, and Process, you'll be backed to lead, not just told what to do Work in a pub built around community, quality, and making every moment count Ready to build something brilliant?
