Santander's Corporate & Investment Banking division is looking for a Manager of Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) Advisory to be based in Boadilla, Spain. The role supports transactional review and risk assessment across SCIB products, jurisdictions, and business activities, ensuring alignment with the Group's Financial Crime Policy. Responsibilities • Conduct FCC reviews of client relationships, transactions, products, and business activities, providing risk‐based recommendations to business stakeholders., • Provide day‐to‐day FCC advisory support to Front Office, Operations and Compliance partners on customer activity, transaction structures, sanctions considerations, AML risks, and financial‐crime typologies., • Assess complex client and transactional scenarios using an end‐to‐end risk perspective, considering customer profile, product risk, geographic exposure, sanctions, and applicable controls., • Review and analyse escalated client and transaction matters, delivering recommendations on risk and mitigation., • Support the review of new products, strategic initiatives and business opportunities to ensure proper financial‐crime risk identification and management., • Perform testing activities over FCC controls, reviewing artefacts and deliverables and conducting technical data‐testing as required., • Assist with responses to regulatory and internal audit requests and reviews., • Conduct horizon scanning and regulatory change management., • Drive operational adequacy and effectiveness of the Group Financial Crime Policy and Guides, acting as point of contact with Group and Country FCC peers., • Identify opportunities to enhance FCC risk management and ensure appropriate actions are taken., • Develop and deliver training and awareness programmes in coordination with Central Compliance, Group Financial Crime, business and Learning & Development. Qualifications Professional Experience • 5–10 years of experience as a financial‐crime compliance expert in a corporate and investment banking environment., • Self‐starter who can lead and independently execute FCC capability development while fostering teamwork and cross‐functional collaboration., • Proven record of conducting FCC advisory reviews of client relationships, transactions and business activities, and of providing risk‐based recommendations on onboarding, transactional activity, sanctions and other financial‐crime matters., • Demonstrated understanding of transaction flows and associated financial‐crime risks across Trade Finance, Payments, Correspondent Banking, Markets and Capital Markets products., • Strong knowledge of CIB business products and services including Markets, Trade Finance and Capital Markets solutions., • In‐depth understanding of Payments, Trade and Correspondent Banking., • Business‐transactional knowledge and FCC control expertise., • Experience working within a large multi‐national bank with global and regional exposure., • Knowledge of regulatory and FinTech initiatives and developments (preferred). Education • Degree level education., • Industry‐relevant qualification in risk or compliance (preferred). Languages • Fluent English (written and verbal)., • Fluent Spanish (written and verbal). Hard Skills • Strong technical FCC expertise., • Experience with FC control tools (e.g. Dow Jones, Oracle, Fenergo)., • Ability to deploy analytics for screening, monitoring and technology solutions., • Proficient in MS Office., • Experience with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot. Soft Skills • Excellent time management and ability to meet business timelines., • Senior and executive‐level communication skills., • Capacity to handle multiple requests while maintaining overall strategy.
