This individual will play a critical role in ensuring robust, scalable, and compliant manufacturing test frameworks across overseas contract manufacturers (CMs). /p pThis role will partner closely with Systems, Design, Firmware, Quality, and Manufacturing. While test execution and IQ/OQ/PQ validation are performed by the CM, this role is accountable for architecting the test approach, defining requirements, and ensuring technical adequacy of CM‑implemented solutions. /p pWhen manufacturing issues exceed CM troubleshooting capability, this person will act as a deep technical escalation point, leveraging detailed product knowledge to guide root cause analysis and corrective actions. /p h3Key Responsibilities /h3 h3Production Test Strategy Architecture /h3 ul liDefine the end‑to‑end production test strategy for medical devices, including Bare PCBAs, Sub‑assemblies and Final HLAs (system‑level functional, calibration, connectivity, and safety tests) /li liAuthor clear test requirements and specifications for CM implementation. /li liEstablish test coverage aligned with risk (ISO 14971), design intent, and regulatory requirements. /li liDrive decisions on test partitioning (what is tested where, at which stage, and why). /li liBalance test coverage, cost, cycle time, and scalability for high‑volume manufacturing. /li /ul h3Test Frameworks /h3 ul liDefine standardized test architectures and frameworks, including: ul liTest hardware concepts (fixtures, probes, golden units, loopback schemes) /li liTest software architecture (Python, LabVIEW, custom frameworks, automation) /li liData capture, traceability, and serialization strategies /li /ul /li liEnsure test designs strategies support regulatory compliance, field reliability, post‑market investigations and CAPAs. /li /ul h3Contract Manufacturer Technical Leadership /h3 ul liServe as the technical authority for production test across overseas CMs. /li liReview and approve CM‑developed test concepts, fixture designs and test software approaches. /li liProvide strong technical guidance while allowing the CM to own execution and validation. /li liParticipate in DFM/DFT reviews and NPI readiness assessments. /li liSupport audits by clearly articulating test intent, coverage rationale, and CM responsibilities. /li /ul h3Escalation Deep Technical Triage /h3 ul liAct as an escalation point and deep dive into root cause analysis when yield issues persist and/or CM engineering teams are unable to resolve complex failures. /li liPartner with Sustaining Engineering, Quality, and Systems teams to drive corrective actions. /li liEnsure lessons learned feed back into improved test coverage and future designs. /li /ul h3Required Qualifications /h3 ul liBS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field. ul li10–12+ years of experience in Hardware test engineering, Manufacturing test or NPI for very high volume consumer or regulated products (medical, aerospace, automotive). /li /ul /li liStrong understanding of mixed‑signal PCBAs, embedded systems (MCUs, SoCs, sensors, power management), system‑level test challenges (connectivity, calibration, analog performance). /li liProven experience defining production test strategies rather than just executing tests. /li liDeep knowledge of ICT, functional test, boundary scan, calibration, and parametric testing. /li liFamiliarity with Python‑based test frameworks, LabVIEW, and test data analytics. /li liPrior experience working directly with overseas CMs in Asia/ Mexico. /li /ul h3Soft Skills Leadership /h3 ul liAble to operate effectively across time zones and cultures. /li liComfortable acting as a technical authority without direct line management of CM teams. /li liPragmatic, risk‑based decision maker with a systems‑level mindset. /li /ul h3Nice to Have /h3 ul liFamiliarity with FDA‑regulated manufacturing environments (21 CFR 820). /li liExperience supporting post‑market investigations and CAPA from a test perspective. /li /ul pFor positions requiring access to technical data, Analog Devices, Inc. may have to obtain export licensing approval from the U.S. Department of Commerce - Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the U.S. Department of State - Directorate of Defense Trade Controls.
